Stop the rot TW or do you have a plan...Pick 1

My joy in the pre season and the overall excitement for the year ahead has pretty much been snuffed out of me in this first month, i know there are a lot of ifs and maybes that we could have been 2 and 2 had we had a fit brown and simmo.
But reality we are 0 and 4 yeah and regardless of results ill still be their week in week out cause i luv live footy and go to each game with that bit of hope for my tiges.

Every week we talk about the midfield and every week nothing gets done are we the only ones to see that the midfield is not working TW says in today’s sun that the midfield has been beaten in the middle for the past 2 weeks no sh!t sherlock, Johno how many times did the ball go over him, through his hands he just doesn't react quick enough in the hot kitchen (play him on the halfback line or off the bench, he was in the best players but no way did i think that and he doesn't hurt the opposition enough with his disposal he actually hurts our own side with his wayward kicking, Tivva’s been good this year but shouldn't be in the middle also leave him on the wing, even hyde shouldn't be there i admit he at least takes them on but doesn't hurt the opposition i thought he did great when in the fwd line with his 3 goals, lids and raines have to start with foley (WE NEED STRONG BODIES IN THE MIDDLE AND PACE).

TW has raines, newman and lids pretty much playing the same role in the backline, a raines and lids can go in the middle and a casserly and white can play their roles in defence.
I just think that TW is not tampering with the team enough and i mean positions.

As much as i am wanting to be positive i cant see us winning games with the same make up every week, young edwards and king were positives for me as was polak if we had a swag of big bodied defenders u could almost say keep polak on the fwd line but i think we robbed peter to pay paul, meaning we need a big body in the backline so lets leave polak there and develope one of reitwoldt, hughes or patto week in week out in the fwd line....There’s the 3 talls.

If the plan is for pick 1 at seasons end then keep playing the same team as is because wins will be far and few between and therefore these players will no longer be required at seasons end, they will need to be traded or delisted...
I look at "age and skill" and what they can offer us in the next “2 to 3" years.
Gaspar, Johnson, krak, Knoble and Tivva’s will give us nothing in 2 to 3 years, and to a lesser extent one of either Moore or Jackson....

I think our recruiting has been good in the last 3 years and acknowledge the black hole in our recruiting from 2000 to 2003 so if we do finish towards the bottom this next draft could be as important than most others because we would need to trade or off load about 6 players, we would have to have at least 6 to 8 picks “min” in the ND and PSD, plus a full array of rookies (5 or 6), i cant believe that i am talking like this but i was told last night no matter what we say this team aint good enough in its current form i was asked also do u believe we can beat the eagles, cats and the 2 Adelaide teams at AAMI, my response perhaps we can snag 1, so we would be 1W and 7L or zip and 8L their are good signs from some players that we know but reality is this team cant deliver so with that in mind TW play more kids get some games into them for the 2008 season, JON, Casserly, White cant wait for thursty to come back, hughes, meyer when fit, etc etc.

Look as much as we would want to get rid of 10 players it won’t happen so with that in mind...

What 6 players would u like to be delisted or traded?

Trade Tuck, Bowden (P), Krakouer, Tivendale.

Delist\Retire K Johnson and D Gaspar.

I defended krak last year so much but i think he needs to be moved on, P.Bowden i didn't mention him but not fussed either way....
I think Tuck id like to retain but if the right offer came along then yeah definitely look at it General.

I think White has upside GPB and as much as petts can be dangerous in the FWD line if he doesn't want to hurt for the club then who knows where this guy lies in the overall scheme of things. Last night i thought he did well but to may times when he had to do the tackling and chasing he just didn’t do it enough, is he scared for a little body contact?

Pettifer has the heart as big as a pea.

Not what this football club should be about!

I agree with your list GPB!

Players of White's ilk or may do better;

Foley
Hyde
Raines
King (The Plumber)
Collins??

Skillful players is the passport to glory.

As for Petts, well, what can I say, he sure fooled me with his cameo performance last year.

At least Tuck will go in where not too many other RFC players fear to go. Yep his disposal lets him down at times but if he had a classy support team around him it would make things much easier for the guy. Other than Foley atm there arent too many others willing to go in and get the hard ball.

Why
Tuck,
All grunt, no skill, Frawley was stupid, but not stupid enough to know Tuck didn't have the goods, and the Hawks were on the money when they delisted him.

White
No skill

Graham
He will struggle at VFL level at best, will neve have the endurance, and has no skill

White and Graham have time to develop skill.

14 players at once might be a bit much GPB. Hard to find many issues with that list.

I'd keep White and get rid of King instead.
Graham I'd keep on a one year deal, IF he can show he is competitive by the end of the year at the burgers. He was starting from a long way back.

Hartigan and Hall, yes and yes I'd trade or delist.
Jackson - forgot about him, but yes.
Moore - handy tallish reserve. Doesn't create much, but would be a good replacement for Thirsty or McGuane if injured. Keep for now.
Knobel - have to keep him unless we can get another senior bodied ruck to support Simmonds. If we can get one, then goodbye. Need to draft a young ruck as well, to replace simmonds when he goes.

Tucky (balls and all) should stay, White is young and can develop and Tivendale is playing okay footy.

But all the others you had on the list Geoffprettyboy, should be culled at the end of the year if they dont wake up. I would have said, they should only be kept if they win us games, but wins will be few and far between this year.

Finish bottom these 7 go!!! Just realise there will be another 2 years of pain!!!
Even The Dud farmer could get a team of hacks into the finals in 2001 once you have a senior team. We have kids get over it!!!! Bring on 1 draft pick!!!!
Gaspar
Hall
Hartigan
Jackson
Knobel
Krakouer
Moore

Just hope TW makes the cull at years end as we cannot afford to give guys on the fringe another contract.
