the drafting this season and some of the reasoning by terry in interviews leads me to one conclusion.
we are going to have a red hot crack at the 2007 flag.
1 we have drafted two ready made key position players
2 after being decimated by injuries this season we still made 9 on the ladder. so it stands to reason that with a reasonably healthy list we should be at least 4 games better off. ( we also have a better draw this year)
3 terry spoke of drafting for the present and mentioned some of our older players in this interview. one could speculate that 2007 is a reward for the senior players who have made many sacrifices for the club in recent years and deserve a chance of september action.
4 the motivation of september action for the older players will see them performing at their best this comming season as for some of them it may be one of the last chance they will get. this in turn will motivate the younger group to rise to the next level.
i am not sugesting that we will win a flag but that we will be a lot closer than many pundits are sugesting
