The reference was actually a modified quote from the 12th Man. Bill Lawry goes off his nut when Merv gets a hat trick. As such, its purely a joke, and in absolutely no way supposed to be taken seriously.

Well done Tiges, we stuffed 'em.

Hirdy's one of my all time favourite opposition players and Sheeds is a former Tiger and a great coach but this was all about getting a bit of respect back for OUR football club.

Yep they are great icons of the game, but fitting that the Tigers rained on their party.............this is justice at its best.................
 
About time we put those arrogant Bombers back in their place.

I have not forgotten the comments about RFC, by those scum when they drafted Zantuck.

Pity you had to move to Canberra GT ;D

Have not doubt T74 is a great poster on here and I'm sure he meant no offence to anyone....other than Sheeds and Hird......

and as they said stuff em.....

Its a pity they had to face the Tiges on their last match in Melbourne hey... ;D ;D

Just why I love the Tigers so much, we may only win 3 games in a season but boy dont we know what games to win.

Great match for us, very happy to see the send off with everyone hanging around. Lotta respect for two greats of the game. And made even better with us winning and Lloydy busting his nose (Im assuming thats why his nose was taped).

I'm with you buddy... :clap :clap :clap

Was so sick and tired of this media hype and all the Sheedy/Hird "love in"....you'd think the two of them had solved camcer, or found a way to feed the whole of Africa, the way the media have wet their pants over these two during the last week.
Sickening before (and after) the game. :vomit

To hear Hird during the press-conference say that he was disappointed with the result, and the the fact they were out of the finals race, and that this was his last competitive game of footy knowing that when he walked off the MCG tonight, that was it....brought a smile to my face. 8)

And the fact that the 60-70,000 Bomber fans stayed until the end and heard the Richmond theme song brought a bigger smile to my face.

And finally, Sheedy losing to the Tigers, and the fact that his players couldn't beat one of the worst Richmond teams in history, should speak volumes of how overrated this coach is (Lucas in the backline for the whole game? Had to laugh at that, as he usually kills us)....and that idiots on here advocating his return should rewatch tonight match.
That brought the biggest smile to my face. ;D

Suck eggs Essendon....suck eggs Hird...and suck eggs Sheedy.

I respect Sheedy and Hird, but if Lloyd has a farewell like this against us, I'll leave the country.
 
I hope this was an important step for our side tonight. This was the biggest occasion most of our players have ever played in and they stood up and beat a side that has lorded it over them for years. There was also the whole media coverage of this event where you could have been excused for thinking that there was only one team going to be playing. This stuck it up them as well.
