I wasn't sure which board to put this thread on so mods, feel free to move it if you want. I thought about this topic watching grant thomas on the news the other night. I thought that nearly, actually probably all coaches say at least a few stupid comments throughout the season, whether it's in the heat of the moment, trying to generate publicity for the game (hi sheeds :wave ;D ) or just being stupid (hi again sheeds ;D ). I thought it might be interesting to keep track of all stupid, silly or just downright weird comments throughout the season. This thread might just last this post, but hopefully will go for a few pages.
Anyway, to start things off-Grant Thomas
"....prepare our teams in the best possible fashion for round 1 and then all of a sudden, the AFL dictate to us that we have a preseason competition..."
Now that quote is word for word what he said on 10 news friday night. "ALL OF A SUDDEN THE AFL DICTATE TO US THAT WE HAVE A PRESEASON COMPETITION". Is he the only person in the aussie rules world who didn't know that a preseason competition has existed for the past few DECADES? :

Did nobody give him a fixture that came out last year stating the words NAB Cup on it? :

Assuming he didn't know anything about a preseason competition going on until the last minute, you would still think that the saints would play practice games against other clubs before round 1. God help the saints (pardon the pun) if the saints make the grand final when it's played in October (like in 1990). "I thought the Grand Final was played the last saturday in September, I'm not happy"
I wish I could call this thread 'Tool of the Week" but someone beat me to it. But grant thomas is a tool!!! ;D
