well done, but the question has to be asked, where has it been all year?

Finally he played a good game. It's been a while coming.

I don't buy the injury stuff.

When it was so clear we were going to finish last and he was playing poorly(because of injury :spin), he simply shouldn't have been playing if he wasn't fit.

His performance this year has overall been absolutely pathetic.

That 1st up wrong way kick against Carlscum was like only yesterday

I for one have been critical of Johnno this year, but admit he was very good yesterday. Most commentators said it was the best game they had seen him play all year.

Whilst he has been a good player in the past he will need to maintain his current form to be in our best 22. I honestly believe that he would be a better player without the burden of the captaincy. Some players thrive on the Captaincy, but Johnno doesn't appear to be one of them.

He can still be a leader around the club without have the tag of Captain hanging around his neck. Natural leaders tend to come to the fore and lead by example anyway so if he is a natural leader he can continue to show leadership, but you don't have to wear the captains hat to do that.

Agree with everything - and have said this most of season.

It's not so simple though, if he doesn't play we don't have many solid bodies on the list to replace him, it's either him or an 18 year old kid. Sure the experience for that kid could be great for them, yet at the same time it's a good way to run your young talent into the ground so that it shortens their career or become injury prone.

If every team dropped a player based on the fact that they weren't 100% fit then you wouldn't have enough players on a 44 player list to field a team of 22. Credit should be given to Kane for pushing himself through the pain and just getting himself out there to contribute.
