Sugar to the backline.

HBF is a pretty good spot for him I think. But on the assumption that Newman will spend more time in the midfield. Maybe somthing like this....

B. Kellaway Gaspar Rodan/Hyde/Hartigan
HB. Johnson/Newman *smile*/Hall Bowden

dont see thursfield in there???? he really showed potential last yr and i think he might be able to secure a spot in the backline in 06, possibly bp.
would prefer rodan either on the ball or fp.
otherwise if everyone works together could come out winners

Hopefully young Thirsty(whom I'm a fan of BTW) is putting some pressure on Kellaway during the season. But a fit AK gets the first nod and justifiably so at this point. Thirsty will probably spend some time on the pine as well as the backline as his development continues.

And when you say Golf Club, I realise that you mean the whole bag and buggy and it is the job of the caddy to retrieve them later.

Sugar in the backline....bloody hell, r u kidding yourself. What a joke - lets get serious. He is a important part of the centre square and is not on the way out just yet. >:(

Dunno tubbs, i think he's already starting to play the cambo role. he gets around the back of packs getting kicks. It mite be time to send newman and rodan in 4 a while.I'm sure sugar could provide little cameo's in the midfield but imo its time to rejuvinate the midfield with some fresh legs and run.

Sugar is a integral part of the onballers - send the likes of newman and rodan in at you peril. They will get their chance but you cant just thrust aside experience for enthusiasm mate.

we'll have another yarn about it at the end of 06.I think tubbs u mite see a bit of a phase out of the midfield 4 sugar and as i said a bit youthful enthusiasm added. So we'll just wait and see.

And several schooners to the victor should be in order?

And shall it be matey!!!

and with the Jolly Roger flying against a blood red sky, richards42 and Tubytiger settled their differences using their cutlasses. The Pirate crew gathered and wagered "PIECES OF EIGHT" over the eventual winner.

As he's getting on a bit  he mite be better suited to the back flank. To be used as a backline general. This would free up newmwn or bowden to go into the centre.
Sugar has definately slowed down and could be used more in the wayne campbell mode. Imo bowden is wasted down back and would be better suited setting up our forward thrusts and directing traffic thru the centre..(would be an ideal captain as well).

very good point. i dunno whether he was injured or it took him a while to adjust to the captaincy, but lets face it, sugar didn't have a very good year by his standards in 2005.

while playing sugar on the backline has a lot of merit, he's not quick enough for the HBF. maybe he could fill the hole we have in the back pocket?

Kane was playing injured last year so it depends whether he's over that, or if in fact old father time and putting his body on the line so often, have slowed him.

Old father time??? He is only 27 years old (28 on march 15th). How much more in his prime could he get. Lets not send one of our stars to the HBF. The skippers place is on the ball pushing forward, right there next to Cogs and Tucky

Nah leave him on a wing with Lids on the other wing which would put Tivendale at Coburg which i find very very appealing. :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi
