I've been bouncing an idea around with a few fellow Tiges fans:

1. Each team needs to nominate a "Super Veteran" who must play 10 minutes of 4 games each season

2. They need to be 40 y/o+

3. They need to have played 100+ games for the team previously

4. Standard bench numbers (or size) expanded as required

I still reckon the Flea could get a touch or two and I'd certainly fork out my hard earned to see him trying. How big would Lounder be my now? Maybe Banik has matured?

I know it's got a bit of Hollywood to it but, but surely this has some merit?

if you're over 40+ then play super rules.

their body wouldnt be able to cope with todays demands in the afl.

You are clearly trying to take the *smile* and not very well either.

This concept is a little tongue in cheek, but I do genuinely think some older heads could have an impact (if only in short bursts...) in the AFL. Imagine 3 Abletts out there last weekend

No thanks - the Ablett that was there was enough.

I like it.

Perhaps they could be limited to standing in the goalsquare and not allowed to move out of it.

Any free kick in the 50m arc and they would be the ones to take it.

That way your Hudsons, Harts, Bartletts, Locketts, Balmes and Northeys could rack up a few stats even if they were on crutches, wheelchairs or ironlungs.

Won't happen at Richmond.

Would be embarrassing to the regular team to see 55 y/olds playing better than them.

The trick would be to get the biggest, meanest, fightingest SOB that can still walk who wore the yellow and black - and send them out there to clobber the best opposition player - who cares how many weeks he would get!

The next game get the second biggest, meanest, fightingest......
