Is it just me or are umpires starstruck by Judd? Free kicks are hardly paid against him. A few of his disposals while tackled on Saturday were very dubious. He is just another player and should be treated as such.

I mentioned this on another thread and agree - he is definitely in the same category as Hird and Riewoldt - untouchable by starstruck umpires...

To be honest for every free Judd gets there's probally 5 missed from scraggers that try an negate him.

Yesterday he definatley got a good rub of the green but I think umpires are so use to him an Kerr breaking tackles that they probally have bought themselves a fraction of a split second more then others or in Judds case yesterday 1 more full spin ;D

and commentators seem to think that he is perfect and try to cover up his mistakes
He proved that he was human yesterday and actually made a mistake. I do agree that there are some players that are umpires pets and they get an easier ride, Judd is one of them.

Too often in games as I saw on Saturday and especially in last years Grand Final, Judd is being tackled before he even gets to the ball and no whistle. I have seen the swat at Johnson and I think we are being a bit precious!

Rocket Eade thinks exactly the same!

So do a couple of journos who covered the WCE V WB game yesterday.

He might get a few decisions go his way but if you are a ball player and continually get to the ball first then you would get more frees if the opposition players are grabbing jumpers or jumping all over you. I have no problem with his free kick tally.

The fact is I want to see the great players being able to go fairly for the ball. Stuff the players who want to scrag and block players off the ball.

Commentators never talk about where his kicks go - and if you watch the grand final in 2005 you will see that half of them go to the opposition. He is a gun but his kicking isnt as good as lots of players like Kane and bling and Tucky for example. Umpires dont watch where they go either cause he won the norm Smith on that day.
