If you play as you train, then Howat is a shoo-in. H elooks solid enough now to take a huge leap this year. I still like Patto as the biggest surprise for the year - but it wont be evident until the second half of the season.... ;)

If an injury free Brett Hartigan can get himself over the white line every week, this kid will be playing Terry's game plan. You wouldn't call him the most skillful of players, this kid will add spark where it'll be needed. At this stage of his career, at the crossroads, he'll be able to play back, in the middle or up forward.

theres a lot of blokes that can/will surprise but none of them are genuine big bodied midfielders - which i believe is what we lack?

Nice to see the variety of names being mentioned in this thread and not one of them do you actually think, "nah, no way, that couldn't happen in a million years".

Was looking through the past threads and found this one. Last post was feb 22nd, and Tambling and Edwards are really the two main vote getters. Most of us were wrong. Cleve and Foley for me.

Geez still ealry days I'd reckon - six games in and no wins. Foley for sure but only by default so far. A bit like saying all those who don't want to play well each week take one step backwards and Foley's left standing on his own.

Like you Doolz, I like the steps McGuane has been taking, and I suspect that Terry does as well and was one of the main reasons Gas was offered valuable games at Coburg.
