Hope Roosy and his team didn't spend too much time at the Draft Camp last week as their first pick in this years draft at the moment is no 55. Dare I say they don't think much of this years crop.

if you look at the trades done you'd have to say many teams don't think much of the draft - a lot of first round picks for not much

And they have to use 3 picks. So if they dont rate it they are potentially going to be stuck with 3 average players for 2 years.

Roosy has come out publicly stating the National Draft is a lottery - he would prefer to take proven performers and improve them than take a chance on a kid. I feel this statemnt disguises his real feeling though - that is - he can't see kids taking up Australian Rules football over the Rugby codes or soccer in Sydney if they know there is a real chance that they will have to move interstate to play at the top level (because of the national draft) - why not stay in Sydney with all your mates and play League or Union or Soccer. This according to Roosy and Leigh Matthews is the biggest hurdle the AFL has to jump to get the real good sporting kids to start playing our game in Sydney and Brisbane.

So I think this is really a form of protest from Roosy - plus I don't think he is a big fan of Demietrio (spelling?)

I thought that the Swannies may have been interested in Keiran Jack (son of Balmain & NSW legend Gary).

Perhaps they feel that he may be available as a rookie.
