Just a quick note - taken from another post,
There has been some comment on the low crowd for the Swans final last night (19,000?)
I'm Tiger born and bred - but now living in Sydney - and I need to come out and defend the Swans on this one.
It was MISERABLE here yesterday :
I mean really really miserable.
Yes it still would have been a relatively small crowd
Yes it should have been scheduled at the SCG (although it can't under the contract)
Yes it should have been played against a team that can draw a crowd (the Roos!!!!!)
Yes - it's hard to be enthusiastic when you've lost 7 of last 9 games - final or not
I HATE the Swans with a vengeance - but last night I felt a touch of sympathy for the low crowd numbers.
Yesterday - Zeus conspired - and only the most die-hard would have gone. (FFS - even the horse races were cancelled)
