As for my vote I have selected *smile*. If anyone else has other options such as Richo, Simmonds, Thursfield please comment and explain why.

You can only go with what looks to be happening at training at present.
I can't split Polak and Shulz who I think will play CHB & CHF respectively.
I would think Polak has CHB stamped across his forehead unless he proves not up to it and has to be moved.
Although Wallace has mooted Shulz for CHB in the past, that was before Polak arrived so maybe that experiment is over.
I think most on here are more enthusiastic for Shulz up forward anyway.

Pat Bowden to float anywhere from back flank, wing, or forward flank and use his height to create problems for the opposition away from the key positions.

Kingsley to play either in a forward pocket next to Richo leading out from the square, or on a flank leading up the ground to provide alternative options to Shulz and Pettifer.

Hall will only get a game if we suffer lots of injuries and is best suited away from key positions.

Joel Bowden best freed up to roam the backline putting out spotfires where he sees them unfolding. This is harder to accomplish if he needs to be accountable.

Jackson, can't see him playing key position, fast leading forward from a forward pocket maybe. Will have to show some good form at Coburg first.

Although not in the poll I think Kelvin Moore will also be embedded in the backline to play both small (matched up on Browny a bit in PSD reports) or taller (on the likes of O'Keefe, Johnson and Robertson). When matched up on a taller type he could well find himself playing FB or CHB. If he can in deed prove this versatile he will prove valuable and worth the wait.

Strange as it may seem, I've always been big on playing Hall in this role. He's a good tall mobile target for that 1st or 2nd kick out of defence. He can plug gaps at either end. Would like to see him playing on the wing and drifting in whichever direction he's required. If he can't fulfill that role - there ain't much left for him. He was found wanting as a permanent KPD.

My votes for Patrick B.  More versatile than all others on the list.  Can play small and tall and is amongst the best kicks on the list.

Kingsley to play either in a forward pocket next to Richo leading out from the square, or on a flank leading up the ground to provide alternative options to Shulz and Pettifer.

Richo's playing for Coburg?   :rofl

I honestly can't see KK getting in to our best 22.  How does he fit into a Fwd line of Richo, Brown, Pettifer, Schulz, Krak and Tambling with Simmo also drifting forward as he tends to do?  I think KK's a backup fwd and hopefully we won't need him.  But injuries/suspensions mean he will play a few games.  I'd be disappointed if KK's selection denied Sarge a spot because he needs game time to gain experience.

Don't agree at all.

If you look at our forward structure the one thing which screams at you is the low number of goals kicked by the forwards other than Richo. IMHO if he is fit and in some sort of form he walks into our best 22 easily. On 2005 form he is vying for our best goalkicker. If he gets 35-40 which isn't an unreasonable prediction then he will come third behind a resurgent Brown :happy and Richo.

I reckon the set up is as follows:
F Brown, Schulz, Krak
HF Pettifer, Richardson, Kingsley

Tambling is in the centre and Hyde who used to parade around as if he was a goal kicking HFF gets moved to the bench. With Pettifer and Kingsley leading up the wings Richo can afford to be anchored closer to goals. Not that this will necessaruily help his conversion rate of course.

Actually if you use Kingsley and Pettifer as the link men and then anchor Schulz who is a very good pack mark in the CHF position it will mean you can also anchor Richo in the Goalsquare from which Spud proved he can kick a lot of goals - if of course we can get it to him often enough.

I went for P Bowden too and it seems as though he's dominating the poll but Hopefully some of our younger players assume the mantle from him shortly.

I'd hope though that we get to a point where most of our KPPs can swing to wherever is required.

Adam Hunter is the current benchmark in this area.

Other thing that stands out with that forward 6 is the lack of defensive pressure that our forwrad line will put on opposition backs as they streak out with the footy time and again.

Rayzor is a good "utility" player.  He's very versatile and more than handy in several positions.  Back, forward, ruck, wing.  He can play them all when called upon.

I actually thought Hall might have been a good option up forward this year but now we've got KK up front, along with Polak, his opportunities may be drying up. :-\

Gotta be my man P-Bo. Easily the best description of utility on the Richmond list currently.

Rayzor can play lots of positions, true...whether he plays them well or not is debatable...

I actually think Rosy needs a holiday after that statement she made.

Seriously, I think Hall is behind the 8 Ball for 2 reasons.

1. His height- needed a couple of more centimetres to be effective against taller opponents.
2. Hes just average at everything he does- The word is "Serviceable" Not great at any area where he could make that his own and own a position, he will always just be a serviceable stop gap IMO. Something this team is needing less of.

Now I voted P. Bowden.

He is the one player who can play back and forward ( I like him forward.) He can also play tall and short when needed - not on best forward but we shouldn't expect that.

I think P. Bowdens best football is still 3-4 years away, and he will keep improving until then.
