My perception is that clubs didn't want to waste a list spot. Even with us, we essentially gave him a 3 month interview before giving him a job, ensuring that he passed the interview for the full 3 months, not just for a week or 2. The ND and RD don't offer you that flexibility.

Yes gee - how fortunate for us. It is nice when luck falls our way when we are already so well positioned.

Kane Lambert post match interview with KRock radio station re Stack.
"You know you're having a big impact when one of the opposition players goes 'Gee, that kid can play' ".

About the only 'query' I'd have would be, where he plays at the moment - his position. Maybe it's...easier to shine, arguably. I'd be interested to hear from those more knowledgeable than me, just where they could see him wind up. Or does he need to to be able to move somewhere else anyway?

When Short comes back and with Smith developing as a small back, there would be a chance of Stack going forward.
That would be very interesting. Would be very similar to Ryan from WC.

Richmond is very different from the Taylor days with lots of players who've gone through and learnt a lot.
Cotchin - stay true to yourself.
Martin - ignore all the media crap.
Rance - care for and protect your mates.
Lambert - hard work pays off.
Vlastuin and Astbury - just do your job for your mates.
Rioli - the AFL media is all a game (thanks Fev)
Riewoldt - AFL media is a game , don't take it seriously.
Grimes - growing from nature is a nice getaway.

Some nice lessons there from mates who've been through it all.

You missed
Titch Edwards - record for most improved awards, persistence pays off!

And most importantly:
Hampson - Pull a model and get paid for doing nothing

Forgot his official club mentor

Towner - Inflict physical and psychological carnage on your opponent at every opportunity.

Kmac - who are we playing this week?

and

Mrs. Hardwick - Help yourself to 2nds Sydney

well-rounded alright

Any reason young Stacka couldn't upgrade into the mid field in a couple of years? Just bloody enjoying watching his game off the back half at the moment. But with his composure, step, skills and most importantly time, he would seem to be destined for a midfield role in a couple of years time. Get a tank n game experience to back his natural abilities n he could be devastating through the mid.

Sydney Stack is the blueprint of a perfect footballer, right down to his name being too good to replace with a nickname. Has it ever been reported why exactly he slipped to the supplementary draft?

He was a bad boy back in Perth.
But under the wing of Xavier Clarke he has become a solid citizen again.
