Tackling

FWIW, McMuffin and Brown look out of place in this team in the tackling stakes. Whatever did they learn at the Bullies when it comes to tackling?

For the past three weeks, every Richmond player has been credited with at least one tackle. This only happened three times in 99 games under Terry Wallace.

Nice stat L2R2R. If you have time sometime it would be interesting to see as statistical comparison of key difference of the Tigers over the last 3 weeks (if any) verses the rest of the year

I noticed that even Mc Muffin layed a couple of tackles ,my daughter and i nearly fell over. though 1 of the tackles was layed after the player steped over the boundary line !

...and the other was when an essendon player tried to run straight through him. I would have probably tried the same if I was the bomber ;D

I'm satisfied that the club has made a good choice of caretaker coach.

That was also the most I have seen a Richmond side shepherd in about 8 or 9 years :clap :clap :clap :clap :clap

I had a quick chat to Chris Newman at the cocktail party last week about shepherding and he indicated it was a much bigger focus at the club over the second half of the season (I read that as 'under Jade'). That, combined with our tackling and the general sentiments that Jade talks about in The Fighting Tiger (that arrived in the post today) about players being team oriented...I really like Jade's work so far :)

It really is an indictment on Wallace that the "non-negotiables" in Grant Thomas speak have only become a focus once he has left the building. It makes me wonder....what the *smile* was he doing for four and a half years???
