The paper this morning has wall to wall Richmond. It is all about pressure. Akers talks in general terms about it and in particular refers to the Tigers. Then we have Sheeds still talking up a possible Grand Final prospect for us. An interview with Joel Bowden, talking about pressure again.

How the players will cope with all this media attention, for all the wrong reasons, will work itself out on Saturday, but all this attention can only put more on the shoulders of the team. It will be interesting to see how they respond. Will they compound again or will they have a red hot go and give the Cats a fright?? Roll on Saturday, to see what the Tigers are made of. Some people react well to pressure, others fold inwards. We will see, won't we!!

I think the players keep themselves fairly well apart from media speculation, commentary and pressure.
I am waiting and hoping for a big AFL story to break to take the focus off RFC.

It might be a good thing because we've been so bad under pressure. Maybe this way we will get used to it.

Yep, we are VERY bad under pressure.

The choke the other nite was one of the worst I have seen.

Early mistakes added to the pressure and everything compounded.

We may bounce back but I think it highly unlkely we r ready for finals and as such that TW will be there at season's end.

A change from your previous posts bemoaning our lack of attention in the media gray.  Be careful what you wish for or you just might get it. :rofl

Buddy seems to cope under just as much scrutiny. Cuz didn't seem to drop the bundle with all the media pressure he was getting.

Why should our players succumb to this media pressure ?

Richmond knew that pressure would come once Ben Cousins was picked up. So they should be prepared for it. So hopefully that was not a distraction for the round 1 performance.

Agree 100%. For all the talk about the Cousins pressure, what happens when we make a GF? One week of wall to wall coverage? If they cannot handle the Benny C spotlight, they are a long way from ready for the real deal.

As they say, if you can't learn to live with the pressure, then its time to get out of the kitchen.

Lets hope the players can all learn from this and put it to their advantage. Better to learn this lesson now than in Sept.

If it was a distraction then it shows how mentally weak some players really are. I would be disgusted if this is used as an excuse.
