Talking Politics

He should have known it. 18 months the reserve bank has had rates at 0.10%. And then wasn’t even within 1% of the unemployment rate. As a former banker and as someone who studied economics at university he has no excuses. This should have been right in his wheelhouse.

Those that vote on climate change will already vote Albo.

Those that want better health care will vote Albo.

Those that want more respect for women will vote for Albo.

He has just given Slowmo a huge freekick to who the better economic managers are. So those that vote on that as their biggest principle may have turned on Albo today.
Frankly that’s horse *smile* 78.

Better economic manager because he memorised the RBA cash rate?

Perhaps we should revive tony barber, get scomo and Albo head to head on a SOTC type quiz show and the winner becomes PM?

Rachel Miller gets half a billion dollars of tax payer money & Tudge keeps his job.
Lets see if Morrison knows the answer to that today?
News was out yesterday morning. When asked, Morrison called it a private matter and one he can't comment on. Quickly followed by pointing to Phil Coorey or Chris Uhlmann to ask the next question.

In regards to Albo’s “gaffe”, it would have been better for him to say straight up “ I don’t know” or “I can’t remember “ rather than try to bluff and spin his way around the question. Personally I’m sick and tired of hearing pollies, of all political persuasions, over the past couple of years in particular, waffle on in answering a simple question while not actually answering the question asked. I could forgive Albo for not knowing the answer if he said it straight up but not the spin in avoiding answering

He tried to answer the question then admitted he didn’t know.

I'm gobsmacked that Albo didn't know the unemployment numbers, F me, doesn't he read the paper or watch the news.

Those figures are rammed down everyones throats every time ScoMo open his mouth.

Anyhow the unemployed figures are bulls!t. If you work 1 hour a month you are deemed to be employed.

How many in the gig workforce, or part time and casuals workers would prefer to have a full-time job. I know it suits some people, but many are working 2 & 3 jobs because they have to, due to them not being able to get a full-time, permanent, job.

The gig, casual and part time workforce is why wage growth over the last 10 years is at record lows.

Can thank the Liberal party for that.

Agree. You’ve gotta know the unemployment rate.

Albanese is a weak and uncertain character that is going to make this election much closer than it should be.

Even Shorten admitted it was a bad start to the campaign yesterday.

So apparently Morrison doesn’t know about a half a million dollar tax payer payment to an ex lover of one of his ministers but the media are in a lather over Albanese not knowing the the exact unemployment rate? FFS kick them out!

I thought it was half a million, not billion.

Just had a bet on ALP winning the next election. Got odds of $1.50. Well worth a look for any punters.

Or you can get $2.10 if the ALP form a majority government. Which I expect they will.

Lol Albo has been near perfect. Small target, commanding in question time when needed, consistent, agile.

The Murdoch machine has been out to hang this guy for three years.

The fact he’s survived is testament to his talent.

And no, Albo is not Shorten.

Unlike Shorten, Albo IS likeable and has a measure of appeal to the dumb voter in the street.

Labor, easily. Yesterday’s gaffe will melt away long before Election Day.

Labor only needs to swing slightly to prevail but it’ll be a bloodbath that Murdoch cannot stem.

The minions will be continually looking for these gotcha moments though. Honest Albo has got to learn the dance steps a bit better in how to handle it.

Despite the bluster, Morrison's biggest stumbling block is trust. He's untrustworthy. That will ultimately be his downfall & I expect it will be massive.

The unemployment rate is BS for sure. Employed means any level of employment and we still have a lot of underemployed but secondly the reason is that employers can’t find skilled people to hire and that is because there has been no skilled migration, no 457 visas and no foreign students graduating from universities and staying.
This is a very difficult labour market right now and it effects a lot of industries. One of the reasons the health system is finding it so difficult to ramp up is there are no nurses and other health professionals to hire!

Where's Penny? Where's Christina?
Labors gun front bench.
Have they been banned from the media?
Are Labor just meant to be perennial "shadows"?
Give us something.
