Talking Politics

Inflation now at 5% and growing fast.

The only thing that is certain following this news is that we will hear that low unemployment is because of superior economic management and that the high inflation rate is everyone else’s fault
Now talk of an interest rate rise. Cost of living for Australians is becoming a real issue.
I'm not convinced the incoming Government will be able to fix it either.

Neither can really, both will say they will.

My point was about the LNP and their claim of being superior economic managers. It appears that only relates to things that go well.

This incompetent, crooked, stupid, lazy government has spent nine years eroding public services, transferring common wealth to private pockets, running a protection racket for the otherwise outdated, uncompetitive businesses and industries of their donors (because they love the free market), and failing to invest in necessary infrastructure. You know, Liberal stuff. That's on top of the 11 years Howard's mob did the same thing - 20 of the past 26 years. March 1996, everything changed.

So, Labor has its work cut out. It can't undo all of the damage these c*cksuckers have done, but it can and will start digging up.

Now, on top of tipping off the media when about to execute politically-motivated raids on behalf of the government, the AFP helps politically inconvenient rapists prepare their defence.

Can't see the point of health insurance. Went to the Alfred yesterday for a regular consultation, no bills, no asking for a credit card, none of that. They want me to pay for the privilege of being charged? Sounds like a crap product to me.

Health should be a publicly provided service where everyone gets equal treatment funded by a progressive tax system.

DS
It’s just waiting time David.

The other thing some people forget is that if you are really sick, need a transplant, have a major car accident or even if you are hospitalised for COVID you go to the public system. That’s because no private insurer will touch things like that because the risk is too high.

Newspoll 53/47 TPP
Ipsos 55/45 TPP
Roy Morgan 54.5/45.5 TPP

If the election result ends up being 54/46 nationwide, I am told Labor will win about 19 seats (not counting seats won by the independents).

Worst day of the election campaign (so far) for Morrison and The Age front page is another attack on Daniel Andrews. Entirely predictable. I reckon the Costello Media have been holding this story back for the right time to use as a deflection. Voila.

Did you get charged a pre op anaesthetist fee?

I haven't yet received the anaesthetist invoice.

Peter Dutton owns the AFP. This should be one of the first things ICAC should investigate.

The AFP like the NSW police is hopelessly politically compromised.

Not great timing for them with the revelations from IBAC on the Victorian ALP. However they deserve it, they really need a good clean out.

A good slogan from Labor would be.......We'll clean the mess up, from Morrison's f**k ups.

Hmm, too many words.

The usual equation is 4 words or less, possibly 6 at a stretch. You have to be able to read it at 100KMh on a billboard on the side of a freeway.

How about: Clean Up ScoMo's Mess.

What about- "Morrison, you *smile* up so *smile* off"?

All the ALP needs is a photo of Scuntmo with the caption: "It's not my job".

Actually, given he has said that so often, that could be really effective because it creates an association with him no longer having the job. I would reduce it to "Not My Job" though.

I have worked closely with current and ex feds. Dogs from my experience.

The tip off about the Bali 9 was just one example of how low they will go. The background to that story is 'interesting'.

Another stuff up by this government. They really have done their best to destroy the university sector and all these fee changes will do is lead to shortages elsewhere.
Over 40% of graduates in commerce were fee paying overseas students, many of whom stayed in the past. In 4-5 years we will have a shortage of business graduates, nothing more certain.
Anything with Stuart Robert’s involvement is a stuff up. “Passion fingers” Robert. Anything he touches he *smile* up.

Business degrees are worth less than arts degrees.

You think Frydenberg is feeling the pressure? His new version of billboards below. "Keep Josh"

it should have a catchy name, like Rooficare, or something.

although i dont know who did the costing? 30% of a million dollar house in 300 grand govt equity. $300m funds 100 houses doesnt it????

the list of people who will be unequivocally moronic if they vote LNP is growing long

women
black people
young people
poor people
disabled people
old people
people who live < 20m above sea level
people who live near gumtrees
people who live near rivers
people who dont condone corruption in govt
