Talking Politics

I’ve plonked on the teals in Goldstein and Kooyong.

Might come a cropper but they seem decent bets.

Happy to gamble.

Because the LNP were able to frame it as a "retiree tax" and a lot of people believed it.

saw pensioners with no share holdings interviewed at the time and they actually believed they were going to lose money/be taxed because of this policy.

Yes, as always far better to never do anything and just sit there and complain about how corrupt everyone is

Don't ever change TM
When your corruption commission publicly interviews everyone involved in a bunch of dodgy n corrupt situations but then secretly interviews the bloke at the helm of the mob involved in all these dodgy situations then you've got a major WOFTAM happening. Just another dodgy investigation that will result in plenty of nothing going around in circles again. Same as the Red shirts, Coates, Branch stacking, Work Safe quarantine, and now this Dodgy land developer.
Finger in every pie but he licks them clean before anyone notices he's even been there.

If it was to be anything similar to the Vic IBAC then it wouldn't be worth wasting one cent of tax payer money on.
You have some knowledge and experience with IBAC TM?
I have, not as someone being investigated I would add.

It is not a pleasant experience and to me is a massive deterrent. It can be improved but I have no doubt it’s very existence stops some bad things from happening. There is a massive amount investigated by IBAC that is not reported in the media ( not interesting enough I guess) and the vast majority are not public hearings, in fact it is extremely unusual for them to be public.

Personally having been involved in a couple of IBAC investigations I would be staggered if they are politically effected either way ( which is a reason to have it of course) and I would note that of the list you provided only a couple are IBAC investigations. The dodgy land developer in Casey was actually far more associated with liberal politicians than Labor as well but I am not surprised the premier was called to that hearing as I am sure a large number of ministers involved with zoning and development approvals would have been.

You need to cut back on your intake of the Herald Sun

EDIT Baloo already used that line.

No worries TM, I'm sure when you cast your vote for your local LNP member you can console yourself with the "they are all the same so why do anything different" line.

And they accuse the independents of having no policies, the independents have policies on climate, corruption and women, the LNP have nothing.

DS
The Libs jsut say anything, safe in the knowledge anyone calling out their nonsense wont get airplay in the media many non-thinking voters consume.

Question remains though as to why some are grilled publicly by IBAC but then when it comes to the grand poobah it's all done by stealth with a nice cup of tea n a bikkie to make sure he's all cosy n comfortable.
