Talking Politics

What a glorious day for Australia.

Hopefully those mini spuds in the Liberal party remember how to move back towards the centre. Australia rejected the move to the right last election. Duddon took that even further.
They need to get back to the middle and give us an alternative government option.

Trump Lite has been kicked out of parliament. Hopefully the libs learn.

If the Liberal Party doesn’t evolve asap they will become extinct.
That is the least partisan comment of the night. And the truest. But the “let’s say bigger “ of the two pollsters on the ABC panel said that Liberals only primary appeal is in boomers and that is a demographic that is not growing and not sufficiently dispersed across the electorates.
But one start they have is that nuclear will be taken off the table.

Comprehensive rejection of Dutton and his stupid nuclear policy.

The Libs really need to heed the message that the Teals have given them. There are talented women in the Liberal Party but they insist on promoting pathetic male candidates. Many of the Teals are just the sort who should be their leading candidates but they are too sexist to pre-select them. They are getting what they deserve.

DS
People say that but when push comes to shove they wouldn’t vote for a liberal Zoe Daniel . They would look for another teal.

They also don't promote women like the Teals because they want to address climate change, and the Libs' owners won't let them.

To get Zoe Daniel as a Lib, the party needs to drag its way back from the far right that it sits at now. They've rid the party of moderates and now find themselves irrelevant.

The Gen X and younger voter that would be a traditional Lib voter has left them for the Teals, who are very much a moderate Liberal candidate.

Compared to Price he's sounding like a statesman. He's actually being gracious, which is the only way a mature person should be in the face of such a flogging.
He’s a DH so out of tune. Gracious in his own spew and incompetence.

Come on Jane Hume, Michaela Cash, Sussan Ley …giants of Australian politics

We should see soon enough which way the Libs go from here. If Price has any sort of role on the party going forward, the Libs will have learned nothing from this election.

I am one of his biggest non-fans but it was a classy concession speech, so good on him.
What else was the moron was going to say? He lost his seat and a future leader is looking like losing his seat. The guy walks around with blinkers on and is the reason why the Libs are struggling as a party nationally.

That Lib guy on ABC keeps saying Dutton is Centre right. I think that shows just how far right the Libs have moved if internally they consider Dutton Centre Right.
