I reckon it was Chandler Mather's and the Greens treatment of Labor's housing policy that cost him and the Greens. He lost by 1200 votes, winner got 34%, he got 33%. I wouldn't call that kicked to the kerb. He did a great job. And unlike most MPs he has something big a worthwhile to hang his hat on, his negotiating and campaigning vastly improved housing policy. That can be objectively measured too based on budget increased as a direct result of his work. Great job Max, very passionate and committed young man who will succeed at whatever he does.
Yes, I agree. If the LIberals are smart they'll choose someone like Dan Tehan for leader and not lightweight Angus Tayl;or.
Yes, I agree.
If Bridgit McKenzie hadn't lost her seat she would've been a good option, who would've got a lot of traction with voters. A fat chance of a female being the the leader of the Liberal party though.
the result damages their brand and ideologies, it rubs their own poop in their facesNewscorp idiots refuse to learn
Yes, sorry Bridget Archer. You mean Bridget Archer? I've made the same mistake.
wish it was McKenzie as well, she's as dodgy as anyoneYou mean Bridget Archer? I've made the same mistake.
Yes, shame Archer lost. One of the few decent Liberals.
Dan Tehan is a charisma-free zone. Seeing as they can't win in 2028 maybe he's not a bad choice, to make whoever comes through after look appealing by comparison. Don't think that person is in parliament yet. Like I've been saying for years, Coalition politicians are the dregs of the Right.
Australians have roundly rejected the Murdocracy for a while now in Australia. Fortunately his influence has waned & his aging audience is dying with him.Newscorp idiots refuse to learn:

Personally I'd like wayyyyyy less welcome to country at the start of so many meetings. Two reasons - its a waste of time and resource - most people are just waiting for it to be over, and secondly it devalues it. Saving it for special occasions (IMO) makes it special and meaningful. Was I voting for the way it got pitched by the liberals - hell no.
Australian Veterans certainly had a problem with rave parties on ANZAC day.
In regards to footy highjacking ANZAC day. Sheedy, who came up with the idea, had the full support and backing of Bruce Ruxton who was the President of the Victorian RSL.

I mentioned Ruxton in my post as a response that the AFL had highjacked ANZAC day.Using Bruce Ruxton's endorsement as a case for anything is where you've gone wrong here.
It’s an Acknowledgement of Country at your meetings, not a Welcome to Country. It takes about five seconds of your time. Will be interesting how Labor takes this.
From my point of view its the best of a fairly uninspiring bunch of political leadership -- short sighted policies with short term handouts to buy votes.
Messaging that its an overwhelming mandate will do my head in.
IMO - It clearly showed what most people are NOT interested in - overt racism and ultra stupid energy policy (nuclear). LNP preferencing one nation is repugnant. Trump style politics on those nose to most Australians.
i.e. it was a vote against something (which is super powerful), but not a strong vote FOR something
