Talking Politics

Myth? I'm guessing there pretty strong evidence to support the assertion.

Provide it then.

I know plenty of working poor who work hard and long hours. I know of many rich people who live off income generated by investment properties.

Can of worms there.

Most wealth and poverty is due to lineage and associated networks.

If productivity is measured in money generated, probably.

But person A rocks into the old mans stockbroking business and generates a lazy 20K on a good day. Person B was a foster kid who finishes school and becomes a tradie, I have my own opinion of who is more productive.

Police suspect a close friend of Bill Shorten and other Labor Right factional powerbrokers vandalised polling places in the battleground seat of Melbourne Ports on the morning of the federal election.

You want people like this running the country ? What a right mess the Aussie politics scene is. The only saving grace is that Britain and the US are a lot worse at the moment.

both sides are cut from the same cloth in terms of combat style baloo, and has been for years. Undignified, petty, conniving the lot of them. These bozos might have been caught, but the other side has done just as bad.

So I agree with the state of politics in Australia call, and I agree that its pathetic and unacceptable, but both sides do stuff like it routinely. Its a big problem, but not just Labors.

I must have missed the news reports of Labor's campaign material being vandalised and torn down the night before the election

Did you miss the Libs Vic Director just sent to jail for embezzling 1.5 million dollars from his own party?

There were 4 of them I think, all involved with the ALP.

Not sure what the relevance is.

But anyway, I guess those answer are the coinfirmation I need that the only vandals were those employed by the ALP.

Serious? This stuffs been going on for years. Both sides baloo. You want to believe Labor is the only party engaged in spiteful dirty tricks, go ahead.

I want to see more of this sort of vandalism.

In fact it's more astute political commentary than anything

Relevance goes to this.

I guess vandalising election materials is bad but embezzling millions of dollars is fine.

Nice, you quoted where I just said Aussie politics is a mess. I didn't single out either party. I then took on ts's assertion that both sides play the same way by asking for any incidents of labor campaign material being vandalised.

I know you love to debate but try and stay on topic. You keep moving the target like a McJesusite

Last time you asked if I was serious I had to school you on the difference between privatisation and outsourcing. I don't have the energy anymore. You may find it incredulous because you're a self admitted die hard Labor voter. Here on the swings things aren't so red and blue

I was genuinely surprised then, and I am now. You can think whatever you want. As someone who has been involved in political campaigns, lobbying for causes (professionally and voluntarily), and knows politicians of various ilks, I find it pretty naive.

Did I say I was a die-hard Labor voter? I don't think I did, because I'm not, but if I did, it wouldn't be relevant to my point here: both sides will do whatever it takes and regularly stoop to low tactics.

OK, here's your post in its full context.

So clearly you were referring to the ALP. You are trying to move the target retrospectively, that won't fly here old chum.

Anyways, you don't want "people like that" running the country but a party with a State Director that embezzles is just fine eh?
