Michael Cohen going down for 20 million bank fraud, draining the swamp indeed.

A shame the whole truth, will never get out when Cohen does the inevitable plea deal.

Absolute rubbish. You're not thinking too hard.

Cards on the table H. Which party is it that you think have all their ducks in a row?

Liberal/LNP - Abbott white-anting, Dutton White-Australia-ing, the rest scaremongering

Greens - been eating themselves since Bob Brown left.

ALP - Had a coup to ditch Rudd but no-one wanted to stick their head above the parapet so Gillard is parachuted in. Then Rudd white-ants until they put him back. Then Shorten Bradbury's in when Rudd crumbles again. Semi-stable but underwhelmimg under Shorten

One Nation - give me strength.

Who else? Liberal Democrats isn't a party so much, more the brain farts of Leyonhjelm.

None of the parties have large membership bases, I think that's one duck a political party in a democracy really should have lined up. The membership numbers of Australian political parties these days is a joke, much higher a few decades ago and look at the membership of the UK Labour Party as a proportion of their population. I think this is a big issue.

Don't forget the Mad Hatter Katter party, who would vote for a nutter like that.

Have a listen to Opening Arguments ( https://openargs.com ) they do a good job of covering what is likely going in many of the cases surrounding Cheeto Benito. Even if you are right there are many experts in the media and the law who will be able to piece together a pretty accurate idea of what happened. If you decide to keep listening I recommend starting around the "Stormy Daniels is a legal genius" episode - https://openargs.com/oa154-stormy-daniels-is-a-legal-genius/

What an option Aussies have. A party where Abbott is in the background pulling strings or a party where John Setka is in the background pulling strings.

And then we laugh at the Americans

Dutton challenged and Turnbull won 48:35 :rofl :rofl :rofl

Best thing is there's no way Dutton can remain in cabinet.

48:35? In leadership challenger terms that's like a 100 point loss.

Nice he's out of cabinet now.

Disagree. That is 7 changed votes away from a change of PM. Without much time to openly court swinging votes. Turnbull is gone. And so are the Libs.

No doubt Turnball is gone once a challenge happens. As is the party.

Just a crying bloody shame the alternative government is just as screwed up.

Richmond FC have more members than the Lib/Nats, ALP and GRNs combined.

Here's the thing too. I expect the Lib/Nats will be flogged at the next election, regardless of who is at the helm - Turnbull, Dutton, Abbott or Bishop. The latest leadership instability has simply put a few more nails in that coffin. So we have a situation where Shorten simply needs to keep his head down, not be seen and don't say or do anything to ensure this is the outcome. As you say, does a Bradbury (as did Tony Abbott before him).

But, I fully expect, that within a few years of victory (once the honeymoon period subsides), a Shorten lead ALP will descend once again into much of the same, with Albo and Plibersek (and their minions) sniping at the sides. So the merry-go-round continues.

And before anyone gets too smug about the Greens being any more stable than the big two. Just look at the internal battle going on there, between the traditional conservationist type Greens and the radical, inner-city, fruit loop, 24 gendered, Cultural Marxists faction - the type of people who are more at home throwing eggs at people in a suit, or smashing up a McDonalds Restaurant at an anti-globalisation rally, than in a forest (in truth, have probably never even stepped foot in a forest). People way too left for the ABC's liking (The ABC have run several investigative reports largely critical of far, far, far left faction of the Greens and the tactics they employ).

*smile* me, what a shemozzle! No idea which way I will send my vote next election. :vomit

I do think though, that to some extent, this dysfunctional, factional political environment is a reflection of what's happening to our society at large. Fracturing into many different arguing and sniping factions, aided by the megaphone of social media and egged on by the traditional media agencies - acting like kids standing around a playground biff shouting, "fight, fight, fight fight!"

Wanting to delay a cyclonic, drought and fire-ravaged, hellish armageedon slightly

seems to be electoral death in Australia?

The LNP's deplorable performance today in Question time was a beauty to behold. They're a absolute rabble.
