Talking Politics

The Libs are now not going to go to the next election with Company Tax Cuts, this was supposed to be the saviour for Australia.

The Liberal party, a party of Conviction :rofl

Its a double whammy, firstly its a pathetic conviction to hang your hat on, tax cuts for rich people geez I'd get inspired and go to war for that, secondly they can't even stick to their own pathetic conviction.

I smell a rat, is this all a plan to get Abbott back in?

Dutton challenges Turnbull and becomes PM, he is then found to be ineligible to sit in parliament because his child care businesses have received government money. Abbott then gets shanghaied back in as PM.

I hope so, Abbott is toxic, that would cause a big clean out & hopefully usher in a new era for the LNP. Pleased to see Hewson & Kennett speak out about the self-centred so & so's holding back the country. Even the CEO of BHP called out Abbott for his BS antics. The one person who has been deathly quiet is Howard, this from a guy who supposedly prided himself on unity - true colours shining through.

I thought it was Howard that mentored Turnball when he first joined the Livbs.

Abbott doesn’t want to become PM again. He wants to become opposition leader again.

:hihi

That's something that he's very good at, as annoying and painful that he is while he's at it.

There'll be another wild pissup in Canberra tonight, at the expense of the Aust tax payer. I hope they don't smash too many coffee tables, or do too much damage >:(

What a dog's breakfast! They can all go and *smile* themselves for all I care! :vomit

Reminding me very much of South Park's satirical depiction of elections, where there is usually the choice between a giant douche and a *smile* sandwich.

I've always been a very politically engaged person and been a big supporter of compulsory voting. Such is my support and interest in our electoral system, I've even worked for the AEC as a polling official at various elections. However for the first time in my life (at pains to make a massive hypocrite of myself), I'll likely be returning a blank ballot form (at least in the lower house) at the next Federal election. The only thing that will stop me is if there is an individual candidate that runs in my electorate, that I can relate to on a personal level (regardless of their affiliation). Highly unlikely though. Essentially an ALP safe seat, so no party really puts in a decent effort for my electorate.

I remember when the western world used to laugh at Italy and their revolving door prime ministers.

If Dutton gets in, that's 7 or 8 PMs in 11 years? We're a rabble.

And as we look back on the Turnbull era were Mal's big policy achievements?

Budget emergency? Nope, they rolled spending cuts back as they weren't popular and now not even ScoMo mentions it.
Tax cuts for business? Nope, didn't get that through the senate.
A sane energy policy? Nope, watered down to serve the interests of Tony Abbott and the climate change deniers. Who by the way are prepared to throw away their free market principles and build new coal fired power plants because no sane market investor would ever risk a dollar on this now. And even the NEG is dead in the water.
Theres Snowy Hydro 2.0 I guess - whatever happened to that?

So now we get a new PM who made his name locking up kids on Nauru indefinitely while rorting government policy to rake in $5.6 million for the child care centres owned by his family trust and ensuring young, white, blonde au pairs are let into the country. I'm sure he's a good bloke though, News Limited will be on the job with puff pieces all week.

*smile* pathetic children screwing around with ***governing a country*** while happily taking taxpayers money... Potentially the biggest disgrace in politics yet!

Talk of Malcolm stepping aside and making a choice between Dutton and Morrison

or a 3 way vote engineered to keep Turnbull as PM?
ScoMo will take votes from Dutton and Turnbull will keep his centre/left Conservatives voting for him?

I bet Julie Bishop will not be the Deputy? Abbott and his conservatives mates will make sure she's not, he's still filthy on her when he got rolled by Turnbull.

If she is, that will be the 5th leader she's been Deputy Dog too, that would have to be a first. But the new Prime Minister will have her full and total support.

So the government doesn't support workers strikes but is quite happy to walk off the job because it got to hard :veryupset :pullhair :vomit

yep. You forgot Mals work botching the NBN. Was too expensive and too good for everyday Australians apparently, (read we can't endorse or continue any ALP policy or plan ever no mater the merits and benefits to the nation), so he made cuts, BUT IT ENDED UP COSTING MORE! Yep, Mal delivered an inferior product that was more expensive.

Thing was, Mal knew the original NBN was superior. Didn't stop him sabotaging it and misrepresenting it.
