Talking Politics

Hahahahahahahaha. Agree, RT.

Really excited... that disgrace of a human looks to be gone (refer to comments on asian migration, opposition to sanctions against apartheid etc.). Anthony Green's called it over. Bolt (Liverpool) conceded defeat some time ago. The bookies clearly think the ALP is home. I'll be dancing in the street Saturday night! 11 years of terror... it's finally going to be over!

16 seats is still a huge swing. dont count yr chickens, man.

This election will be way closer than people are saying. It's a massive swing. The only poll that counts is the one on Saturday. (and the draft too, of course)

I voting green anyway 6pac. If Richard Di Natale gets in I will be happy.

"Bennelong time since a prime minister was rolled."

yeah i have voted green since bomber dogged it on the tampa.

Opinion polls in marginals are actually showing the Libs are sticking fat more than people expected.

With a good week of media, and no more gaffs, they are are very good chance to be cherry ripe for victory on Saturday.

And yeah no, we cannot comment about Spud Frawley being on their media unit....

John Howard looking very tired and frustrated. Just looks like in his heart he has had enough.

Kevin is powering ahead in this last week.

The $200 million advertising bombshell and the blocked information regarding the work choices changes that have been proposed have done it for me.

Agreed, and its a good strategy. Only a handful of marginals are likely to be in play, so all the other RUdd-fests happening elsewhere are irrelevant.

I think whoever wins may only have 1-3 seats in it.

I can only speak for myself, but down here in Melbourne, we know there is an election going on. It's just that as the election campaign goes on, I care less and less about the whole thing. I'm definitely not going to vote for Howard and the way Rudd has been going, it looks like another informal vote and let everyone else decide who's going to screw me for the next few years.

I'm not all that interested in politics and this left Vs right thing and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in this country who has zero faith in politicians anyway.

What a waste of a privelage if you don't vote.

If you have no faith in politicians, become one yourself and change their profile

I'm not talking it down...I think most people are just being honest in that they believe that Rudd will get in.

However, as I have stated.....I think the Libs policies are more suited to what I believe in and I'll be voting for them, regardless of who the "favourite" is with the bookies.

And as the strikes roll on throughout 2008 and people on here are whingeing.....I'll be sitting here saying, "I didn't vote for them, so serve you right" ;D

I actually love that bit. Bunch of people I know voted Howard last election, and then had a collective cry about Work Choices. Seriously, if you didn't know Howard had a conservative approach to the labour market you were living in a tent.

I then used to say they same thing you just mentioned, "hey, you voted for him!"

I'm surprised we don't have an opinion poll going. Everyone else has one.

It'd have to be anonymous mate.

The problem on this thread is that there are too many people having a crack at Howard, but then not backing it up with who they are going to vote for themselves.

An "opinion poll" on here would therefore be useless if people had to put their opinion to their name.

This makes no sense. I agree, if you are bashing one side, have the guts to say who you support. But a poll is about saying who you DO support. No need for names, unless people flood the poll with bogus account (who would be bothered), the poll may reflect the current voting inclination of PRE members.
