We better get that "Rudd Ineptness Thread" up and running soon mate, as I'm tipping it will double that Christianity one in the first year alone... :hihi

P.S: Yeah, Remote was just playing the 'conservative' approach...we all knew Rudd was going to get in purely because people just wanted a change, nothing more, nothing less.
They got their change...now let'em suffer... ;D
at least now its allright to eat your ear wax :rofl :rofl

now we know the outcome of the rookie draft.....
no1.. k.rudd..outside reciever.doesnt create play,negative type
pick2... j gillard..played juniors in a red jumper,and plays like peter filandia,once she has a hold,she wont let go
pick3,,,w.swan..untried junior that will get found out quickly in the big league
pick 4... p.garret..just like the turbo manurfactoring company of the same name.promises much, but full of hot air.

yeh grand final 1980 pales in comparison.....?

Football is but a game. I was 4 when we won that. The memory is hazy at best.

Seeing that snivelling little jerk get kicked out, makes me happy beyond belief. I'm not in a union, as a matter of fact, if you looked at my job etc, you'd expect me to vote liberal, like a lot of others at my work.

Unfortunately, I see the impact his government has had on my brothers and sisters, and my retired parents, and couldn't watch them be put under more pressure. Now Rudd just has to make the most of his opportunity, otherwise, he'll get a kickin in three years.

History was made tonight - the biggest swing to oust a Government - 16 seats

But IMO the Government lost it - Rudd did not win it.

The undercurrent of displeasure throughout Australian concerning Workchoices was the reason - Howard did not sell it to the populace - the Labor/Union campaign fed the peoples concern of it.

Be that as it may - now we will get back to Government accountability - ministerial accountability - and yes the Rudd Government will err - all Governments do - but at least those ministers that do make mistakes will be held accountable.

Intersting that doherz Liverpool and ssstone have intimated that interest rates will rise because of Kevin Rudd - yet when interest rates did rise under John Howard you argued that interest rates are outside the Prime Ministers control - different view from opposition hey fellas?

Now we may see a government that governs for all Australians - and does not try to wedge issues between Australians - dividing them and creating fear and dislike for each other.

Now we will see the Westminster Parliamentary System be returned to its rightful place with the correct checks and balances that it is renowned for. Now we will see Australia be Australian again and not the 51st state of the USA.

This is a good result for Australia at this stage of its history - the lesson here is that the people will never allow their hard fought for working environments and conditions defaced by an elite few like the H R Nicholls Society.

Maybe I am an idealist but I believe we should always strive for equality of life and opportunity for every decent hard working Australian........RT

your mate krudd will do a bracks and just blame the previous goverment while he does#$@!@#%^&* all.his policies in general are no differant.yours is just a typical lib bash.(spolit rotten}.history will show, and i aint that older than you, shows that subbies are always outa work under labor.and as subbies have mouths to feed ,they go looking for "normal" jobs .at the detriment of unskilled labor.and then watch our record low unemployment rise .

Howard got it bloody low befoe it started to go back up.....far better than that 17% rubbish under your Keating government.
Give it a couple of years or so and it will be up there again.
And watch the unemployment go up now too.

And if you really are for the "hard working Australian" then why are you happy about having the ALP, backed by Unions, running all states as well as in the Federal parliament...for the first time since Federation?
To me....this monopoly will make it worse for the 'hard working Australians'....and it will certainly NOT work for ALL Australians as you claim.
That is rubbish.

Like I stated...let the good times roll....pack it up boys, we're going out on strike... :-\

Good for the nation? Quality and a life of opportunity? :rofl

I see you have taken Howard's demise particularly well! :happy

BTW Howard as Treasurer once had interest rates at 22% - you seem to forget that conveniently! :headscratch

I don't care whether Howard was the leader or not....I vote for the party that I think is better for this country, and of course, myself.
And I think having the ALP across the nation in State and Federal control for the first time since Federation, is bad for this country...hence why I am unhappy about it.

After taking over from another ALP *smile* up, I'm sure.
It's a vicious cycle Remote....the ALP stuff it up, then the Libs come back in and fix it...then people want change, so they vote the ALP back in again...then they stuff it again, so we vote the Libs back in again...
What we are seeing now is just this phase called 'change'....however the next phase int he cycle are the stuff-ups... :-\

Look at it at State level even.
Cain/Kirner stuffed it.
Kennett got us back our triple-A credit rating....then people wanted 'change'...so we got Bracks, now Brumby.
And what are we seeing now...teachers on strike, nurses on strike...

Now with the ALP in the Feds as well....they have taken over the country that is debt free due to the good work from Howard/Costello, after they received it from Keating like $96-billion in the red:

There are no excuses if we go backwards!

I have found Liverpool's new hero.....my wife. This is here statement on voting Liberal versus Labor:

Why should I help poor people? This country has huge opportunities, and if you work hard you can have a good life. Most people who are poor are poor because they are lazy, and I don't want my money helping lazy people. Or stupid people. Look at me, I came here and built myself a good life, why can't they? In China people have a reason to be poor because they have no opportunity, but you have so many opportunities here for work and education. I do think we should help the disabled and people with special problems, but most people are not this.

If all Chinese were like this Tiger74....and we had a bountiful water/food supply...then these are the type of immigrants I don't mind coming here.
John Ilhan had a similar view as this too.

Good stuff.... :clap...now go and buy her a bunch of flowers or you're going to have to deal with me! :D

Livers, I doubt if Rudd will let our economy go backwards as you put it - for he is closer to a little 'l' Liberal leader than he is to a traditional Labor leader.

What I think you fear is the Labor far left getting their hands on power - Rudd has got Gillard very much on-side and it is her job to keep the far left in place. She is one tough minded women and I believe she will not take any crap from the hard-liners.

With reference to your investment decreasing due to a Labor Government I think in the 1st instance there will be a slow down as the investors wait and see what Rudd is like - if - and yes it is an if - he displays his conservative economist beliefs and acts accordingly to keep the economy in balance without going to the huge surpluses that Howard allowed (for his war chests at election time) then I believe the investors will return - arguably more confident because they will see surpluses being invested in infrastructure and productivity growth.

As for the strikes of the Teachers and Nurses in Victoria - they have a right to ask for better pay that is equal to their counterparts in other states - currently Victoria is lagging behind in this area. Once there is money injected into both the education and health systems from the Rudd government there should be an easing of the situation in Victoria - what could the Vic government do when the Howard government had held back billions of dollars from education and health? Find the money from thin air?

You are right to be conerned about the hard-liners, far left - I am betting they will be kept in their place. Time will tell.
