He also worked over 120 days straight during the lockdown, not much chance ANYONE in the private sector would do that, including the Owners/bosses etc.
Yep spending an hour or more per day every day droning the same mindless lock down mantra about how he was saving everyone from all his previous *smile* ups.

At a guess western economies will be crashing before the Federal Election. This will put the focus back on economics of which Labor is historically disasterous at.
sorry pal but this statement betrays a complete lack of credibility on political issues. Doesn't stand up to any rational systematic historical analysis. Its just a folksey reactionary myth.

While the above is irrefuteable, I'd go much further. I'd argue that based on systematic historic economic analysis the Coalition wrote the book on wasted economic opportunities and pissing billions of taxpayer funds up against the wall.

I'd say waste and government go hand in hand. Both sides can be shown to have wasted plenty of taxpayer dollars. Agree this Libs being better economic managers is a bit of a myth though.

Albanese will get his chance but its going to be a very tough few years economically so he's gonna be up against it.

Its a lot of a myth. It exists only in a chunk of the general population and conservative media, and I don't reckon said media actually believe it either. It doesn't hold any water with anyone with any expertise.

I agree to a point, governments by their nature 'waste' money. Its just the nature of bureaucracy and the associated accountability requirements. You and I could build a granny flat for 100K, any government will spend at least double that on the same building. Its how about how bad the waste, what the money is being spent on and who benefits. I'd argue over the last 30 years coalition waste has been far worse by any measure.

The Liberal Party operate under the..................keep telling the same lies and people will believe you.

So, what does the data show?

The data shows that the Coalition under Mr Howard was the highest-taxing government of the last 30 years, with an average tax-to-GDP ratio of 23.5 per cent.

Over its first four years — prior to introducing the GST — that rate was 22.5 per cent.

Whoa there, just stop now. You cannot bring facts and data to the table in this discussion. Repeat after me: Labor are irresponsible tax and spend maniacs and the LNP coalition are sound economic managers.

I'm surprised so many of you took the IPA inspired bait in frick's post. If "Left Wing Billionaires" wasn't enough of a hint it was an IPA talking sheet, claiming the Libs are now so far Left they are where the ALP used to be was the other dead give away. I mean if the Libs have moved to the ALP's traditional left, Malcom Fraser must have been a Communist.

I also liked "left-wing institutions" like the CIA and the IMF

The IPA are a disgrace. Bunch of hacks who can't get a job in a Uni. They would be an irrelevancy relegated to Murdoch opinion pieces if it wasn't for Howard's masterstroke of changing the ABC charter to require 'balance' when discussing any topic.

Governments new religious discrimination stuff now into contracts.

The contract states "the college will only enrol the student on the basis of the gender that corresponds to their biological sex" to maintain consistent with the college's "Christian Ethos Requirements".

The contract goes on to state that the college "acknowledges the biological sex of a person as recognised at birth and requires practices consistent with that sex".

Another clause states the college has the right to "exclude a student from the college" should they not adhere to the "doctrinal precepts including those as to biological sex".

To keep their child enrolled at the school, parents must agree with a set of "religious beliefs" laid out in a "Declaration of Faith" attached to the contract.

Part of the declaration states that "any form of sexual immorality (including but not limited to; adultery, fornication, homosexual acts, bisexual acts, bestiality, incest, paedophilia, and pornography) is sinful and offensive to God and is destructive to human relationships and society".

Religion trying to return us to the 50s.

National Press Club Q&A is worth watching .

Morrison being absolutely smashed by the journalists.

Dead. Man. Walking.
Meanwhile, Network Ten journalist Peter van Onselen asked Scott Morrison about his relationship with former NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian, whom the PM has previously encouraged to run for federal politics.

Van Onselen read out text messages he said were between the former NSW premier and a current Liberal cabinet minister.

In one text, according to Van Onselen, Berejiklian labelled the PM a “horrible, horrible person”. The cabinet minister in question allegedly added that the PM was a “complete psycho”.
