Potato head is a really big chance of losing his seat although it is Queensland...

Fraudenberg is still a decent chance to retain his seat but there is a massive push for this independent candidate. Signs up all over the electorate already

If recent poll numbers follow through in Dickson, Dutton will lose his seat. But Queenslanders are a funny and unpredictable lot.

I read this on Twitter, so you can take this with a grain of salt if you wish, but Frydenberg needs an 8% swing to be knocked off and internal polling says the swing against is at 12%. I have also heard a significant amount of “Frydenberg for Kooyong” signage and billboards have gone up in recent weeks. He has also been in the media more than usual in recent times. Even if the internal polling is inaccurate, I do get the feeling he’s a little spooked.

From memory the Brittany Higgins rape was covered up for some months to reduce the damage. There is absolutely no credibility apologising for what happened when they won't apologise or even 'fess up for the cover up which they perpetrated at the time.

Add to this the Tudge allegations and the Porter allegations and it is abundantly clear they simply don't give a sh!t about women being attacked.

DS
Did the worst ever Prime Minister apologise for backgrounding Higgins's partner?

I was living in Sydney, Howard's electorate, when he lost his seat. It's nice to know I was personally responsible for dumping the man out of Australian politics. Frydenberg should be scared.

Every Coalition member would be spooked right now. If we just take the treatment of women in isolation, the Government has managed to really *smile* off 50% of the population. Sure there will be a few Crumb Maidens who don't see it that way, but they are more than accounted for for Males who are also appalled at the government's treatment of women.

This issue and the Governments handling of it will bubble all the way to the election because the ALP knows it's the single issue that has the biggest reach across the population.

I suspect he would have publicly said he rejects the premise of that question. Just as likely his text messages on the same subject would read "How good is that?!?!?"

The Prime Ministers office did a background check on Brittany Higgins boyfriend to see if they could silence her that way:mad:

What is a crumb maiden?

I have images of the fairer sex of a seagull variety at the beach near a five year old with a bag of stale bread.

Crumb Maiden

A person (Male or Female) who works to maintain power structures (Typically gendered power structures) which hurt them and/or their community in the hope that they can gather some small residual benefit
@AmyRemeikis Nov 30, 2021
At some point, we also have to have a reckoning of the crumb maidens, who uphold the power structures, actively bully or encourage their worst aspects, so they continue to benefit from the crumbs of those power structures. Until they don't.

I live in Kooyong Ian and to me there are far more signs for the independent candidate than for Josh. They both have people out and about in shopping strips already.
He should be spooked. I don’t think the ALP is in the game but their preferences will be key

That's quite amazing Sinner, I grew up in that electorate & it was absolutely Blue Ribbon Liberal. Robert Menzies was the sitting member & as we all know, the PM for years. He was also the Founder of The Liberal Party.

It would be a MASSIVE smack in the face for them if they lost Kooyong.

It would. Andrew peacock was the member for many years. There is precedent as at the last state election Hawthorn went Labor which was a massive surprise, including to the labor candidate I understand. That is the seat of Ted Ballieu as an example. The one who lost it was John pesutto who is one liberal I have a lot of time for.
As I said I can’t see Kooyong going to labor but a strong independent with ALP and Greens preferences has a chance. Frydenberg is on the nose in the electorate, there was a strong “ vote Josh out” movement with it’s own website and even t-shirts before there was a candidate. A lot of it stems from his lack of support for Victoria in the pandemic but also there is a big climate vote as well.

Pleased about this. Corruption needs to be investigated. You shouldn’t be allowed to sweep things under the carpet by refusing to cooperate. We need this to happen Federally as well.

Also I will vote for the party who brings in if one is found to be corrupt they spend time in jail or the lose their future pensions.

Didn't see it at first but when I did, beer sprayed everywhere.

Interesting take on why the ALP won't automatically vote down the Religious Discrimination Bill and prefer it goes to the Senate

Apart from Labor having their own issues within the party on this topic, it is an interesting take which may well be true. If the LNP want to vote down the legislation if amended in the lower house because the amendments are not to their RWNJ faction's liking, and then use that to wedge Labor, then Labor do have to tread carefully, because the LNP will generally prioritise an electoral advantage over anything they claim to believe in.

While we're on the LNP working hard to deliver on their promises, where's the Federal ICAC?

Its dumb tactics from Labor - if they didn’t like the bill they should have just voted against it - surely it’s a principle thing. Even PrettyCoat said the bill wasn’t needed.

I reckon they have now lost this argument in the eyes of the public. Doesn’t bode well for the election.
