Talking Politics

How did he pick a fight with China?
sorry, about is probably the word I was looking for- for China, the unions, and renewables.

Morrison, Joyce and the rest of the current shambles want the noise to be about those things, not Covid, Aged Care, the NDIS, centrelink payments, the climate, ICAC or any other number of real issues.

Didn't he basically accuse them of deliberately creating and releasing COVID, costing tbe country billions in exports?
That's not my recollection spook, but happy to be proven wrong if you can produce a source of Scomo accusing China of that. My recollection is that Marise Payne suggested that there should be an enquiry into the origin of coronavirus.

So your recollection is that Scott Morrison's Foreign Minister called for an inquiry into the origin of COVID, but you don't think Scott Morrison accused China of creating it? Do you recall China cancelling billions of dollars worth of iron ore and produce?

Payne suggested a global inquiry into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic, including China's handling of the initial outbreak in the city of Wuhan. This inquiry was fully supported by the Labour party who urged the Government to secure the support of other nations.

BTW, China did not and has not cancelled one kilogram of Australian iron ore.

Oh really?

Tudge :rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2
Joyce :rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2
Cash :rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2
Colbech :rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2

And, of course, ScoMo :rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2:rotfl2

What can I say, except, you cannot be serious.

Yes. I'm not blinded by love or hate.
I stand by my comments, labor needed to overhaul themselves but they didn't. If they govern next they had better be beyond reproach or this threads participant's will be found wanting.
And my gut feel is, that they will be found wanting.

That was good advice by Labor.

It would've been much better if Australia and a coalition of countries asked for an enquiry into COVID and it's origins. They should've done the same with the 5 G Network, instead of being the first country to ban Huawei, as many countries soon did the same.

Why is it a mess?
They were second rate last election.
Pliberesek or Chalmers, heck even Bowen should have, could have led, why not? Because they still have the old crew running the show!

Yeah, and we are already hearing the LNP claiming the ALP don't have enough experience to govern. If they had changed all their members inexperience would be the line, since they haven't replaced everyone the claim is they should have overhauled themselves.

This is so transparent it is not funny.

So as a nation we should hold someone's hand rather than show leadership?

Spot on TM. It was a poorly thought out piece of diplomacy and it backfired. Labor were correct to call to a team effort with our allies before we went for the megaphone option. We don't have the might to wrestle with China and our own staunch ally the USA has said "thank you very much" and filled in the trade gap after our faux pas.

probably as a federal government, the Libs and Nats should concentrate on showing some leadership in Australia, before worrying about trying to be leaders on the international stage.
PM Morrison, and Deputy PM Joyce- no wonder this is the worst government we have ever had.

I said it before the government started to fail on PRE David. The ALP needed to change but they haven't. Well not enough in my eyes.
The government speaks about the ALP skill set being based on school, uni, politics. The claim is not to overhaul themselves but diversify into people who have a proven history in life outside of politics.
In my opinion they have much better figureheads for the leadership position than Albo and his cronies.
Hey it's my opinion and maybe it's a bit too sensitive to say on here for some, but if you and co think that Albo and his crew are the saviours I can only wish you the best of luck.

Well, when you are the small kid it is hardly a great strategy to take on the very large bully on your own.

Especially since we ended up with sanctions which our great ally the USA has benefited from, they're doing great trade with China.

Let's just turn a blind eye shall we. The CCP deserve our respect.

If you had read this thread for a while you will know I am not fond of any government.

Albo, as I have stated many times, is not great. But we need to get rid of the grossly incompetent incumbents, they are just a mess. Albo is the only viable alternative, no-one else is going to get to be PM apart from Albo or Scomo.

I'd truly love to see more variety of people on politics. Was it Chifley or Curtin who was a train driver? No chance of that these days, both parties basically train their cadre in student politics, unions and as political staffers. More power to the independents I reckon, they at least have not spent their whole adult life setting themselves up for a political career. I live in Goldstein so I can contribute to removing a RWNJ IPA alumnus so for once I feel my lower house vote might actually matter.
