Talking Politics

Does he really lack all self-awareness? To say that about Albo and then literally do dress-ups every day for the last few months is quite mindboggling.

Morrison is a man of many talents, he's a hairdresser, a florist, there's nothing he can't do.

I'm lead to believe that when he was visiting a farmer during the floods, the farmer took him ferreting, they weren't catching any, so Morrison pulled a hare out of his arse.

I heard that the only thing he was pulling out of his arse after visiting farmers during the floods, were muddy and drenched rubber boots from the farmers he tried to talk too.

No, but he thinks we all lack any memory. Given the coverage he gets from Murdoch he also knows that the criticism of Albo and the dress ups will never appear together. Plus, he's a marketing guy, repetition of the message is part of their schtick and it does work. He is trying to replace peoples' image of him from trying to explain screw ups (too many to mention), and the criticism that he is a do nothing PM without an original thought in his head, with images of him doing something constructive.

"Scott Morrison’s claim that he’s not pretending to be anyone but himself is laughable in light of his constant stream of staged dress-up photos ops (“Libs count cost of PM’s stunts”, March 17). He’s played an airline pilot, tank driver, welder, scientist, pastry chef, hairdresser and giant squeegee operator and nothing appears to be off limits, except for holding a hose. Niki Savva’s wish that he “behave like a Prime Minister and forego stunts and blame-shifting” has as much chance of happening as the sun rising in the west"

This needs some scrutiny before the election. Make this an election on morals and respect to women. ALP will win on this front we know, but need greater accountability and more respect in our parliament. As it’s a clear race to the bottom.

It's still early in the counting, but ABC election guru Antony Green has said that Labor has won the SA election.

Nobody is going to investigate this, internal party ructions which they should keep internal. Mind you, not at all surprised to see it is 2GB trying to feed off this story, always been a bunch of RWNJs there.

Some right faction behind the scenes head kicker wrote an article in The Age today about this and I'm stunned that the ALP are still stupid enough to air their dirty linen in public.

Of course, some in the ALP are holding their tongues, there would be plenty to talk about in relation to Kitching's past in the HSU at the time when they were getting done for corruption.

Politics, especially internal party politics, is a blood sport. Kitching gave as good as she got as does her faction from what I have heard.

You see the same thing in all parties, just have to look at the Liberal pre-selections in NSW going off to the Supreme Court for a second time to know this. Just surprising that the Libs in NSW are letting their dirty linen air in public too, the Libs have always been a lot better at keeping their factional brawls out of the papers.

Wong acknowledged she apologised to Kitching for inappropriate comments towards her - apparently about her being childless. Interesting she says the claims of bullying are untrue.

I'm sure she said much worse and so did Kitching. I'm not condoning any of this but what I do find irritating is the faux outrage at the remarks when they all know how horrible internal party politics is. Doesn't make it right but the media is presenting Kitching as some sort of saintly defender of decency against a pack of heathens, which I understand is just not the case.

I will also add that the way this is being presented is different to how it would be presented if they were all men.

More rubbish. The LNP covered up a rape claim to the point they arranged for the crime scene to be steam cleaned the day afterwards to destroy any evidence. The CCTV footage at parliament house is mysteriously missing from that night. They took an unprecedented step of preventing an investigation called by their own speaker into the origins of Porters mystery benefactor paying him 1 million bucks to sue the ABC for defamation for their reporting on the highly credible allegations that Porter is a filthy anal rapist. The MP who had the rape claims reported to called the alleged victim a lying cow when she went public with her claims. The PM suggested that those attending the Women's march for justice were lucky not to be shot. That's just off the top of my head.

As i said on the other thread, chalk and cheese. Nothing is similar about these accusations whatsoever. These are desperate arguments of a government that knows they're up *smile* creek without a paddle and are about to be wiped out and unfortunately are supported by a sycophantic media landscape , whom are all large businesses and know that business in general are supported (protected) by the LNP.

Was Warnie's heart attack caused by those criticising him for his off field indiscretions? Give me a break.

Always makes me wonder why anyone even bothers to vote for politicians or political parties these days. There's rarely anything solid about their
" policies or plans " for the future.
Just a heap of public bribes, manipulation, back stabbing n abuse of one another to either gain or hold on to power, privilege, position, perks n pay packet.

Yep, its just the LNP through the Murdoch media trying to exploit her death for political gain. And its a disgrace that other media outlets (including the ABC) are choosing to amplify it.

Morrison is good at talking, but slow on delivering, just like the bushfires and the floods.

"The fate of two Russian oligarchs, Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg, proves the point. Three weeks into an invasion that alters every calculation about global power, with horrific war crimes that are almost certain to grow worse, the government has been scrambling to decide what to do about these two Russian billionaires with big stakes in Australia.

Only in the past few days, when the media stepped up questions, has there been the slightest hint from Canberra that it would do something about the two oligarchs and their stake in a Queensland refinery that gives its Russian investors the right to 600,000 tonnes of alumina every year."

"Morrison wants to toughen the measures against Russia and he heard a direct appeal for greater action when he spoke to Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Wednesday night. The message from Kyiv: “Increase pressure and sanctions.” Yet the government has been shockingly slow to do this in the one arena where it has the most leverage."
