Talking Politics

Didn't she whack him good? Although I don't the msm will cover these bullying allegations as fervently as they did as those levelled at Labor over Kimberley Kitchings death. Haven't seen it personally but I read on twitter that this story made a footnote on page 15 of the Sydney Morning Herald today.

Her timing isn't great. Budget will be the 2nd biggest news story of the day behind Warne's Memorial. It's up to the ALP to make this stick over the next few weeks.

Was it the PM or Deputy PM that called the recent floods a once in 500 year event?

How about twice a month....

Yes that is true, but if it were treated the same way by the msm then we'd be hearing about it for the next 2 weeks straight.

No Slomo, The only people saying you shouldn’t spend money on victims of natural disasters are the *smile* wits in your own party, you gaslighting mother *smile*

As Ronni Salt points out he is creating opposition where none exists to try and make himself look strong and compassionate when he really isn't either of those things.

Yeah its your classic conservative straw man situation. But particularly ham fisted. Nobody is saying you shouldn't spend money on victims of natural disasters, nobody. It reminiscent of his 'I've spoken to industry' about free RATS when he hadn't. He just talks and routinely lies to make himself sound as good as he can in any given situation. I've never seen anything close to it.

Hows the strategy? Not only is nobody saying it, but SM's rhetoric implies he is bravely standing up to a powerful majority who are saying it. His *smile* knows no bounds.

Watching his feverish, rapidfire, self serving verbal diarrhea on how great he is and how terrible the ALP is, with no grounding in truth or reality, is hard to take, a bit disturbing, scary black comical. Even by the standards of politicians, the man can talk under wet cement.

RMIT ABC Fact Check's verdict on the big load of bollocks, I mean budget speech, delivered by Fraudenberg.
No surprise, their well worn chestnut of taxes always being higher under Labor gets a reality check, among many others

Over the past 30 years, taxes have been higher on average under Coalition governments.

Under the last Labor government, the average tax-to-GDP ratio was 20.9 per cent, which was lower than the current government's 22.3 per cent, whether measured as the Coalition's record to June 2021 or including its estimate for the financial year about to end.

Has the Herald Sun done the same homework for their readers?

Only read the first few lines of the article n didn't need to waste any more time on it. No Govt, Liberal, Labor or independent actually generates any revenue from anywhere or anything except taxes. For every dollar that the Govt. promises to hand out in " freebies " there's roughly an extra 35 cents in admin fees on top to run the system of handing out their largesse.
For years now there's hardly been a policy worth a pinch of *smile* from either side of Govt. It's all about dishing out billions in targeted bribes to the voters to ensure they get re elected.
I might one day decide to start voting again if some mob promises to take less off me in the first place n lets me spend my hard earned on stuff that I want n need, without all the *smile* " handouts " that come with a massive admin fee over n above what they already take off me with one hand n pretend to give back with the other to try n buy my vote.

As a confirmed non-voter I'm surprised at how engaged you are in politics.

Do you think the NDIS was a bribe?

Do you think the NDIS was a bribe?
Probably something that was twenty or more years overdue, but it's still a massive handout n as with most well intentioned govt schemes. Most of the funding will get chewed up in bureaucracy n admin strangulation n incompetence.
P.S. I did say there'd hardly been a policy worth a pinch of *smile*, there's probably the odd one here n there worthwhile, but Govts being what they are they usually end up making a dogs breakfast out of even the good ones.

I hear a fair bit about the NDIS through a family connection, the waste, which is monumental, is all lining the pockets of the private businesses that are putting their snouts well and truly into a large number of troughs. You can't take a p!ss without those arseholes lining up for a payment. Would be far more efficient if the government just ran the support themselves, and, you know, employed some people directly to provide the care without half a dozen dodgy businesses lining up to get paid for woeful service.

Wow !!!! I wonder what spin Morrison puts on that.

Cancelled French submarine program could cost taxpayers more than $5 billion

Given it will take decades to get the nuclear subs (which we really don't need) and that the diesel subs from France would perform a different role, they should just buy the French subs and use them for 20 years for the purpose they were bought for.

$5billion to get nothing is just stupidity, better off spending the money and actually getting something.

I reckon he would say something like

“Under Labor, it would have cost $10 billion. You can’t trust Labor with your money. Albanese talk funny. Liberals are bestest economy managers in the world. I never lie. Praise Jebus.”
