This makes interesting reading

Contracts that end 2006: P.Bowden, Chaffey, Foley, Gaspar, Jackson, Knobel, Limbach, McGuane, Meyer, Moore, Polo, Raines, Roach, Stafford, Thursfield, Tivendale.

Sure does.

P.Bowden stays, Chaffey gone, Foley stays, Gaspar jury out, Jackson jury out, Knobel stays, Limbach jury out, McGuane stays, Meyer stays, Moore gone, Polo stays, Raines stays, Roach gone, Stafford gone, Thursfield stays, Tivendale stays.

Only change I would make is Limbach stays. For a project player he sounds like he's doing all the right things. Does anyone think there is any more he could be doing that he isn't already doing? Sure he is playing Coburg Reserves, but he is kicking a bag full each week and the Coburg Seniors really don't have a place for him at the moment. I would think he is a project that's coming along quite nicely. I'd give him another year or two.

I agree with you, but it appears that we're in the minority. Go have a look at the last Coburg game thread, he of the concise posting (TM2005) steadfastly believes Limbach will be gone this year.

I'd like to see him stay too, I don't believe he's been given much of a chance, but he's progressing nicely, as you say. But who knows?

He also has a thread telling us Terry will walk out at the end of the year. ;D

The one good thing is that opinions here count for nothing in the end of the day. GM and TW obviously have a plan and if Limbach is fulfilling his end of the bargan then he will stay no matter what TM2005 says. Of course, if he isn't fulfilling expectations then he will go. I hope he stays, sound exciting.

I think most people on here are with you RROFO and SB re. Limbach

Gee didn't Hughes go from kicking 7 in the Coburg Reserve to debuting for the tige's the following week ;)

So much for my astute readings of the goings on here, eh? :-[ :hihi :hihi

Should he debut this year, or be left to find his feet in the Burgers for the rest of the year and bring him up next year?

one important thing about our existing coaching staff, if someone warrants a spot, they get it, regardless who they are. I say "bring it on, baby".

Depends how he's travelling.  I'd love him to be given a taste of seniors before the year is over but only if his form and endevour warrant it.

Yep.

Look at Polo. Played Coburg reserves most of last season. Promoted to Coburg Seniors. Demanded selection for the AFL. Now looks well and truly entrenched. Nothing wrong with a long apprenticeship. Some people suffer from gimme-now-itis.

Another good example are the two big blokes at Melbourne - Dunn and Bate

They didn't get a game in the Seniors last year and look at them now
