Tambo showing glimpses today

I was very impressed with Tambling today. Definately showed he has class. Hopefully he can remain injury free and we can see the best of him.

In regards to Hughes, his goal on the tight angle was very impressive. Still is a kid and when he develops his body, will be threat to any side. Needs more time to bulk up.

You can play all the kids you want but the lack of battle hardened bodies was really evident today.

Like McGuane & JON, Hughes is too light yet.
These kids are being brushed aside. Their lack off body mass was extremely evident out there.
Forget D. Meyer for a while too until he's got some muscle.

These boys need to hit the gym hard.

Add Krak(still skinny), Tambling, Petiffer & Foley to the list too. All very slight.

Otherwise the good sides are going to kick sand in our face for a while yet.

We are desperately missing players in that 22-28 category.

Good post ToO as can be expected in first and second year players they will be light but you can see the gym after 3 years on bodies like Raines, Roach and Jackson a little bit.

Unfortunately our trading/drafting that should have resulted in 22-28 between 1998-2002 was non existant We are paying for it. That why we need to keep our players drafted from 2003 and establish them. Brown, Johnson, Hyde, Newman, Tiva and Coughlan from memory are our only regulars.

Back on the topic Tambling looked good in glimpses to today nad seems to be improving each week. Bit similar to Davey in style and remember Davey started his career two years older than Richie.

JON was a little quiet but did anyone see his acceleration on the wing in the last quater...i dont remember who he was chasing but he was about 20mts behind and almost caught him..both going full tilt....His agility also is freakish!!
* Cleves goal from the boundary
* Tambling weaving through traffic
* McGuanes movement through tight traffic and spot up to richo lace out
* Deledios run from back pocket to half forward
* Raines keeping Davis pretty quiet

.....these are the things we should be looking at because it is useless being annoyed at the KIDS.....if these young boys can do some of these things now....then just think how good they can be in 3-5yrs.....i came away from a 118p hiding feeling ridculously positive...i think its only a matter of time and we will become a force again.

By the way does anyone think Lids is injured?? I heard a rumour he may have slight...yep...OP.

great post 8balls

Totally agree as do most Tiger fans I have chatted to since the defeat.

Thought Tambling was pretty good today. Starting to find his feet at AFL level now.

If we keep playing the Hughes', JON's, Deledios, McGuanes etc. as well, the same thing will eventually happen with them.

We just have to hope ignorant supporters who lose their nerve and wanna revert back to the past and the players who have failed us, just because we get the odd thumping, don't bring it all undone. ::)

beautiful post 8ball. Brings a tear to my eye. Only a tiger supporters could throw up a quote like that. i'm with you brother.

I reckon the most telling stat of the game was that Paul Williams 300 games was more than 14 of our players combined.

I liked Tambos game and I would but Andy Krak in our best too.

Ritchie finally started attacking the ball like it was his 2day! Really looked like he wanted it 2 be his ball and not just make a contest! Keeps backing that up week in week out we will have a real star on our hands.

On a side note... lidders IMO has the 2nd year blues! Just cant get his stamp on a game! Hopefully by mid year he hits some good form!
