It may sound far fetched this Just want to get peoples opinions on this, does anyone rekon that clubs could possibly tank a game for betting profit to lift clubs profit margins especially say if a club isnt doing great money wise? or even a group of say 4-5 quality players whom could affect the outcome of a game if they decided to all have a bad night at the same time.
tank a game by more than 40 points when the odds of that game on the day are say even money head to head but if a team were to lose by more than 40 points the odds are 6 or 7 bucks as per the blues and dawks last night.
Clubs and or a group of players could easily get 2 or 3 people to lay large bets of say 25-50 k each on the oppisition at 40 + points thus giving the losing club a massive return and with creative accounting these days they could easily make the money come through on the clubs books a legitiment cash flow.
It happens in other sports just thinking watching last night blues get wolloped by 100 points last night after playing good football and winning games two weeks agaisnt dogs and port . Sometimes you have to stop and wonder if it does go on, on a larger scale.
