THe Tasmanian Premier is a bit of a doer I reckon too.  Stitched everyone up over the Betfair saga.  Good move Tassie if nothing else.
You mean as in "been in a good paddock"?  ;)

Looks like a typical Hawks supporter as well.

The Tassie Hawks sounds infinitely better to me than the Tassie Tigers...

If they consulted the fans it would never happen.

As we all know, eight teams cannot survive in Melbourne.  This is a back door way of getting one of them out.  Let's just be thankful that it is not our club.

As a positive for us, this will open the door for Richmond to market itself again into the eastern suburbs heartland that the Hawks have slowly taken away- esp if they leave a trail of unhappy fans who feel powerless to do anything about them.
don'tthink we will totally move there as we have the waverley facilities and it would be wasted if they shifted

It would be completely wrong for the AFL to give Hawthorn 4 compensatory games in Melbourne. Thats 15 games accounted for where Hawthorn want them. This completely compromises the fairness of the fixture.
about time we got what we wanted as we have gone else were to please the afl eg gold coast !

This is becoming more interesting.

It seems as part of the deal, the Tasmanian Gov't will be insisting the Hawks are referred to as the 'Tassie Hawks'. This includes the club answering the phones as 'Tassie Hawks Football Club'.

I'm not sure Mr. Kennett was counting on that.

Tassie Hawks will be playing a maximum 7 home games in Victoria for 2007-2011 then how many.

Hawks are going to be hard to beat in Launceston. Having watched the Tiges getiing flogged there this year, I hope we don't play there in 2007.

If we do play there, let's hope we do our homework on how to play the ground.
