Team against the eagles.

just goes to show, despite all wallace's ramblings, how much say he really did have in selection. mcmahon and pettifer are around at wallace's right now commiserating and talking about the good ole days!

Better team. Gets rid of the older/underperformers and promotes youth. With an extra tall, it also gives a better forward structure and with Nahas and Edwards provides extra speed.

Rawlings has performed his first task very well. I'll be looking for a better game plan now - fast and direct ball movement, preferably to longer targets. Saturday night should be interesting viewing.

I still reckon Bowden is stiff, everyone bags him but I think he's the most intelligent footballer we have. He won us a couple of games on his own last year and he was the one in the Freo game that ran up the wing to get it to Cotch who got it to Morton for the winning goal. Maybe if we had a decent gameplan, he wouldn't NEED to get cheap kicks across half back. Yes, you know what you're going to get from him each week and I, for one, think he deserves to keep his spot.

Well at least we have a clear direction now. Some here have been calling for this sort of change for years; others who will feel depressed at what is likely to happen on the field should think of the future. ;)

Bowden has every right to be disappointed in being dropped. Suprised Hislop got a run. Would have preffered another game from JON out on a wing. This type of game is tailor made for him, an opponent without a lot of pace. If he can't do anything here then he would have to be a goner.

Backline is a real glimpse into the future. Without Bowden out there, it frees up a spot for Rance to play with Moore, McGuane and Thursfield. Now if Will can only recapture his form of last year, and Newman and Polo continue to be consistent, we have what looks to be a nicely developing back 6. Poor old Polly though. Even if he can make it back, doesn't look like any room for him down there.
