Team changes - round 3 v Western Bulldogs

morris has to come out in my opinion, his shoulder is absolutely stuffed, and he's very messy and just plain dumb around the contest at the moment. dalhuase may be a problem for us this week though

also don't know enough about Gordon or Lloyd but maybe one of them to come in for ???

Not just Dalhouse - Libbers, Cooney and Griffen are also probs. We cant take the Bulldogs lightly or they will surprise us I reckon.

If Griffo stays fit and keeps his form its going to pose major selection headaches in a few weeks when Maric returns. Consider this, we will have a lopsided tall team that will be as slow as a wet week. Maric Hampson Griffo Vickery Riewoldt Chaplin Rance Astbury Grimes that's almost 40 % of the team that are talls! Add to that the lack of pace from Grigg Newman Thomas and we will get flogged by quick teams. Which tall/s get dropped ?????
I was wondering about the talls when I was watching the replay yesterday. You can't drop Hampson and Griffiths on their current form and if Maric is fit you're not going to leave him out, however I don't think you can play all 3 of them along with Vickery, Riewoldt, Chaplin and Astbury. I personally think they'll also have a headache when Rance is right again. A backline with Rance, Chaplin, Astbury and Grimes is also top heavy. If we get first use from the midfield however and move it quickly by hand or foot I don't think teams that are quick will give us too much trouble.

Maric is probably still two months away so we will see what form and in injuries we have at that point.

I can tell you after watching the VFL practice game today, that you can put a cross through the names of McBean, Edwards and Knights! All sustained injuries :(

I heard during the week that Maric is only 4 weeks off VFL playing time.

Sorry about the 8 week maric reference, I've been away and only recently read the old article saying he was 6-8 weeks. I know nothing more than what has been reported.

Not good news. Do you know what the injuries are Marty and how serious they are?

I can tell you McBean did his ankle and it look nasty, can't tell you if it was the one he injured last year but it was his right one, and both Edwards and Knight have I would say medial ligament damage. They were talking about him having scans tomorrow. Knights hurt the same knee as he had operated on last year, but I would say it is only a minor strain, all three were heavenly iced straight after the respected incidents.

McBean - ankle, was in a decent amount of pain and sat out the last qtr
Edwards - knee, not sure of extent
Knights - knee, but only believed to be some soreness so fingers crossed

He kicked our second last goal to get us within 2 points. Some people at the game saying they didn't see him injured at all.

On the other hand apparently Lennon came off sore in the first half.

i was about to check the twitter account. sure i saw earlier that he kicked a goal very late.

Surprised no ones mentioned Batchelor to come in. As much as I like Stevie, he's certainly been disappointing in our 2 games this season. Seeing as Matt Deas injured at the minute, bringing Jake in couldn't be any worse than Steve. Would love to see Matty Arnott in the side too. I recall him taking out Thompson from the Suns last year. Loves it hard the angry ant. I see him being an upgrade on Kingy in the long term.

Batch is to slow to play on a quick small forward. He needs to play ahead of Grimes and Astbury if he wants a game.

I want Gordon to come in for King.

Also the club needs to play Foley for a full game. If it's in the VFL because we bring Jackson in so be it.
