TEAM CHANGES V SYDNEY

Does anyone think Rance would be a good matchup to run with Goodes ?
Thats an interesting matchup. Rancealot may be a touch to inexperienced to throw in at the moment, but give him a season and who knows? He's already mentioned that he'd love to get some kind of midfield role when he grows up.
Got a feeling Jacko will get first crack at Goodesy round the midfield.

Cousins is a possible in, so too Raines for down back and I rather have Raines in and McMahon out if at possible. Sydney in Sydney is a toughgame, Raines has the right mindset for that sort of game, McMahon does not. Richardson, we'll have to wait and see what happens with his but, however you'd expect him to play, even if they prop him up at FF.

If Cousins and Raines both come in, it add's some much needed pace and aggression, namely getting the hard ball, tackling etc. Plus having Benny on the field will take a little heat of Cogs and Lid's. I'd name Benny on interchange and just run him out for around 12 minutes a quarter to be careful with his hammy.

We'll find out tonight who is in and who is out, but if any of the players think last weeks game was good, they need to be reminded that they only won because North couldn't shoot straight and played a shocker, the Richmond playing group have a very long way to go before they can even start to think they are good.

from everything thats been said by players, online and in the papers cotchin, cousins and raines r basically confirmed for coburg this week so this post is null & void.

If Jacko lines ups against Goodes as a tagger it could well be another Hyde match up!! God Help us!! :'(

correct, goodes is that good i dont think it really matters who plays on him, i think its more about reducing his impact on the overall result of the match. im pretty sure polo has done well on him previously so that could be a match up to go with. need to stop mcveigh, he hurts u on the scoreboard too. jackson can go on him, suits better with the size of them and he causes as much damage on the scoreboard from the midfield as goodes does.

That's true but similar can be said about us. Both teams kicked 16 behinds. We kicked 6 more goals than them though.

Yup

Amusing comment given we kicked the same amount of behinds.

We had six more scoring shots, and won by six goals. Sounds fair to me lol

As much as some people are worried about Goodes, the swan supporters will be just as worried about Richo.

a. Did the Chimp play against the Swans at the SCG in 2008?

b. If so - how many possessions did he have

c. If so - how much influence did he have in a team that kicked one goal in the first half

d. If not - who else can be expected to repeat last years performance???

I think we can beat the Swans this week - but only if a different team to the one that turned up in 2008 attends!

Be interesting to compare the 2008 SCG team with the 2009 team.

PS - I remember Polak and Morton were rested

Chimp managed 14 possessions in his 3rd game for the Tigers (as an 18yo) with about 60% game time. Don't under-estimate the class of Cotchin. I don't expect him to play against the Swans this time around however, needs more match fitness.

No way McMahon will be dropped. Played very well last two games. Wouldn't have Raines for McMahon anyway. McMahon is a far better kick to position, Raines struggles there a bit. Certainly doesn't tackle any more, but is alot closer marking than McMahon.

Raines, if played should be played forward of centre so as not to butcher the ball so badly through poor decision making.

In saying that he would not be in my best 25.
