Thought about that wasn't sure if JR should play closer to goal or give us another option at half forward but I guess if Richo played across half forward thats the only target we would need up there & Pettifer works pretty hard to present & make himself an option. Think we should play 3 talls up forward though gives us more options & flexibility to get a mis match with the opposition. Likewise down back the last time McGuane played we only had one ruckman so Polak had to do the ruckwork but now we can rotate Pattison & Simmonds of the bench which will mean Polak can stay back & McGuane & Thursfield can play as the other talls releasing Bowden to play further up the ground. I hope we play man on man & don't have an extra man in defence.

First thought is that I am glad Tambling has been dropped!

I wonder why Richie wasn't announced as omitted along with Harts on Thursday night. The cynic in me wonders if it was to protect him from media scrutiny considering his recent 3 year contract extension.

Pretty close I would have thought. Hope you are right about Newman on the wing?
Maybe I'd go
B Mcguane Thursfield King
HB Bowden Polak Johnson
C Raines Tuck Newman
HF Edwards Richardson Pettifer
F Brown Schulz Riewoldt
R Pattison Jackson Foley
Res Howat Hyde Simmonds Tivendale.

Next week in CONNORS.

Last year he was better than Heath Shaw, yet Shaw has overtaken him this season....but who knows how things would be for both players if the roles were reversed?
At least with Raines he is still young and can get better.

Playing in a poor team isn't the reason he can't hit a target... :(

If he could kick he'd be great, let's hope he does a Foley.

SEN reported earlier that Bling refused to take the phone and cop a bake from Plough last week when he got dragged, so probably earned himself a week or two in the magoos.
Would think Harts has been given his one last chance to show something and been found wanting.
Great to see Jack given another taste, the poor kid is just stuck in between at the moment. Does VFL easy but just not quite developed enough for AFL. Just looks a very clever young footballer.
Seriously hoping Luke grabs this opportunity with both hands, think Plough was looking for Thirsty to cement his spot to replace Gas and one of Luke or Kel to step up to the grade at the same time.
With both dropping back to the magoos it's made Plough look a bit stupid, we need Luke to grab the last seven games .

Looks like Luke got a run on the back of him keeping Reid to 5 disposals and no goals last week.

HF Jackson Richo Riewoldt

INT Pattison Johnson Howat Pettifer.

sheesh i count 11 players who should not be getting a game.the side is lacking in so many areas its scary. 80 plus point hiding on the cards.

Think Hartigan was always going to get dropped, maybe they wern't sure about Tambling. If Tambling remains in Coburg there will be more media scutiny re his 3 year deal.

It's possible too.

When he has played at VFL level, I still havent seen him tear a game apart.

On my way to check it out now, hopefully today's the day.

my guess is its in case the rain gods want to come to the G on Sunday to see Richo. we may need to offload some height, and that gives Richie a second chance.

More accountable style today. Polak to go one on one with Lade, McGuane to take Westhoff.

Numerous talls on forward line to stretch Ports lack of height.

I still cant figure out why McGuane was ever dropped in the 1st place. He was great when he played. Still remember his awesome 1st quarter on Hansen.

You sound confident.
