It looks like the 3 coming in are Chaffey, Pettifer and Mills. It would be unjust if Hyde was dropped - but it looks that way. Hopefully Rogers and King get dropped - forever.

I'm actually looking forward to watching Coburg this weekend on the ABC on Saturday at 1.00pm more than I am going to watch Richmond. Want to see how Shultz, Sipthorp, Shir, Pickering, Moore, McGrath, Fleming, Nicholls (if they are playing) perform.

I almost feel sorry for these guys. I wonder at what stage they'll turn from players of the future to being fresh ammo for the "dud brigade" ;D

Geez hope that didn't sound like I was thinking they won't be good enough.....Far from it.
Just there are a few people who can't say anything good about any players in our team, and these kids have it all in front of them yet.

It'll be interesting who gets the job on Nathan Brown. Needs to be someone who can play midfield as well as mid-size defender. Possibly Ty?

Hopefully D-Rod will play further upfield this week where he has more impact.

All of the above trained with Coburg last night at Punt Road as well as Bidders & Krakouer.

They all looked OK and I think they should play. Knee brace and all in Krak's case ;)

If Frawley pickes Mills to play I will know 3 things;

* Frawley doesn't know what he is doing
* The "white flag" has been raised in Rd 2
* Mills has photos of Frawleys wife...

Like Geischen, Frawley will dig his own grave and jump headfirst into it if he picks complete hacks like Mills to replace hacks like Rogers and King.

Danny, my support is dwindling

I hope Mills has a blinder. Really, we should go a bit easier on some of the young players. The truth is that last year it was the senior players who seemed disinterested and insipid.

Mills has struggled, no doubt, but he does have some attributes too - one is being able to hit a target. He's a better kick than a lot of other Tigers. Let's give him a chance.

Because we love the club so much we're prone to putting these kids under unfair scrutiny. The fact is, some need more time than others - we should be rapt at how quickly Rodan, Zantuck and Coughlan have come on. I'm sure if we put other clubs youngsters under the microscope as we do here, we'd find very similar stories (though we have made some classic recruiting blunders). Perhaps we need to remember what a basket case the club was in '99.

BTW, I reckon we're a good chance this week. We should be bigger and stronger against the young doggies, along with the obvious height advantage - but we don't want to waste the ball like we did last year, when we should have given them a pasting on the scoreboard but got done on the rebound. A big issue will be fitness - we still could be in danger of being over-run.

I think that this year every win at this time of year will be a bonus - as fitness improves and players come back - the media for one seemed to forget we were quite undermanned and underdone last Friday night.

J2R - A fairweather supporter wouldn't go to every game and be a member for the past 10 years or so when there has been no success. If thats what you classify a fairweather supporter then thats probably what I am.

I for one enjoy watching young talent, observing potential and thats one of the things that frustrates me about frawely is that he doesn't give the youngsters a proper go.

These young kids are the futrure of the RFC - not the unproven hacks like rogers and king. I know what the senior side is capable of under frawely - I can write the script for you now. I like the unpredictable - but unfortunately thats exactly what we are not.

Rosy - before I start bagging players I give them enough time to prove and disprove themselves. I am most disappointed Hyde will be dropped for this weeks game.

Lets not forget guys, that a few years ago, Mills was an up and coming player we all had great hopes in..

Then he went down with a knee injury?? Everyone's forgot about him, and know there bagging him..

I can't beleive that don't bring Shulz in, and either chuck him down back, or help out Richo in the forward line.. Jeez, he was the 6-7th pick for god sake, you'd think he'd get some playing time with Otto out..

Leave Hyde in Frawley, I was fairly impressed with him on Friday night. Played quite well defensively, at least compared to his Tiger peers.

Throw Rogers down forward, thats the only spot he can play, either have Hilton playing of the half forward, or half back flanks. Have Razor roaming the ground, taking full advantage of his height, pace, agility. Have Richo playing out of the goal square. Keep Andy Kellaway and Gaspar down back, with Chaffey and Cameron running out of the backline. You guys get the picture...

One thing people seem to forget was the main reason, IMO, that we were so succesful in 2001, was our penetrating backline, with Torney, Chaffey, Hilton, Bowden, Cameron running and kicking to open targets in the midfield. With this style of football, our relatively weak midfield will be less accountable due to less packs of players. The only problem is that they must be willing to run into open space, which unfortunately some just can't seem to be bothered..

I for one would prefer to see Hyde, Mills and co play, rather than the Rodgers and Kings of this world, who have absolutely no future in the game.
Mills to me has ability, but then again so did Ezra Poyas and we all know what Jethro Frawley did to his career.

Yes, Ezra Poyas and Craig Ednie - I remember them, showed some promise and potential.

Why did frawely sack them again?

I am sorry to all the Mills fans, but I have seen every game he has played and he is *smile*....He has kicked a few goals because no backman deems him worth picking up. He is SO SLOW that he may as well be a cardboard cut out when the ball is coming out of the tigers forward line.

He has carried this "key position" reputation from TAC. If he is key position, the tiges jumper is purple and pink.

Physically he is a disgrace. In the four years he has been with the club he has grown from a stick figure to an obese stick figure. On that alone I would have pissed him off at the end of last year.

If these kids don't want to put in the hards yards building up their fitness and bodies, get rid of them. The template for success from guys like Buckley, Voss, Crawford are there for all to see. Coughlan, Zantuck and Rodan are three guys who appear to have put in the work and are showing the benefits.

No more sympathy for any of them. The sword is out and poised over every players head..

fair enuff harry.my fault i read it wrong.

one can only presume the reason schulz wasnt given a run this week is because they want to see how he goes this week for coburg against grown men.
just rememeber he is only 17 with plenty of years ahead of him.
if he proves he can handle the bigtime then well and good bring him in.

*smile* no future frawley. I hope you look after your mates Rogers and King at linton st Moorabbin next year in your new role as team runner.

Another nail in the coffin of frawely for not having the balls to drop his buddies king and rogers who both showed absolutely nothing last week and were actually a liability to the team. If this is how he punishes players for poor performances no wonder we are not going anywhere.

Feel sorry for Mills and Hyde.

Watching Coburg play today Fleming really impressed in the first half, but was off the ground in the second. Was he injured?

Also McGrath and Nicholls played well in the 2nd, especially McGrath - he shows alot of class - more than Krakour IMO.

Hopefully frawely plays him soon, otherwise he can go back to his potatoe farm.
