Team Lists - Rich V Adel

perhaps ur right leysy, still rather edwards dropped but like selwood not being right since his head clash with rance maybe a blessing in disguise to give him some touch in the ressies...

If we are going to be handing down freebies to be in the side we cant do much worse than trying out DD's boy "thompson" in place of edwards...

Yeah perhaps. Still think Eddie has some scope. As you mentioned before he will need to fill out to give himself any chance.

Not a fan of Thomson. Never have been. Always thought he's a pretty limited footballer at AFL level. His types not really what we need in our team either.

But the list mgr in his wisdom did trade a decent pick in a good draft for him so we really should play him with where our seasons at.

Edwards is a funny one -

he dissapoints but I still reckon he can make it - I don't think as a mid though.

I reckon hes a Mark Williams of Hawthorn small forward type - not so much a crumber but leads well for the ball -- can that work at richmond though.

I was a fan of his but I reckon hes got limited strings to his bow now. he needs to step and show hes got more.

Not bagging Edwards but better to give the time to JON at this point.

No. I'm all for giving kids a go but JON is a complete lost cause and we should be cutting our losses and not wasting a development spot in the seniors to him.

that he does but and its a big but if he cant put on decent body size it will hinder him from taking that next step, nahas has blistering pace and tackles hard and bloody skilful too, edwards has limited ability, average skills and average decision making but can find the ball on occassions but as mentioned he has to build up similar to some of adelaides players who IMO some being average but have a hard edge and can win the ball with their body size...They're trying to play him as a sweeper ala luke hodge, it wont work leysy especially with that skelator frame.

On thompson look we do need to play him, we know what edwards can offer, lets look at thommo and see what he can do in the 1's, has had some good games in the 2's this year but some bad ones of late...

RICHMOND v ADELAIDE
Richmond
B: Chris Newman, Jarrod Silvester, Will Thursfield
HB: Dean Polo, Luke McGuane, Richard Tambling
C: Andrew Collins, Shane Tuck, Brett Deledio
HF: Trent Cotchin, Jack Riewoldt, Tom Hislop
F: Tyrone Vickery, Mitch Morton, Ben Cousins
Foll: Angus Graham, Daniel Jackson, Nathan Foley
I/C: Robin Nahas, Kelvin Moore, Jayden Post, Shane Edwards
Emg: Alex Rance, Adam Pattison, Jake King

In: Collins, Post
Out: Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls, Alex Rance

New: Jayden Post (Western Jets)

Still no forward structure. Missing another tall and I doubt Post will play forward this week. Pretty happy with the team though, glad we are sticking to our guns and not playing the older blokes.

With McGuane Moore Silvester & Thursfield in the side I bloody hope Post plays forward!! Tough call & Rance but he will get back in we need his agression but one of the key defenders had to go out just for team balance.

Agree with the changes. Edwards & Hislop are on the hit list next if they don't deliver.

I just hope Rance doesn't become our next Duncan Kellaway. :-\

Agree with this. Although I think he could become a good crumber.
I feel Nahas has taken his spot now. If he spent some time down there and learnt to chase & tackle like Nahas I reckon he could be dangerous around the goals.
I thought he was very promising early but am quickly running out of patience now.

Wouldn't mine seeing McGuane given a run in the foward line actually, he takes a good grab.

Also nice seeing Taylor Walker out of the side, he's a gun.

Was Nathan Brown fit anyone?

What do you mean by that Duncan Kellaway was an icon player during his time at the tigers played for the Big V tough hard & I think Rance is taller with a bit more skill maybe more like Andy Kellaway.

Poorly skilled icons, Duncan & Andy were courageous, Duncan was a great tagger, but there versatility was found wanting.

I can see what Rawlings is trying to do with Rance, a good decision to drop him. Must make this new crop work harder, be much fitter, and work on their skills.

Rance may have been a bit stiff, but the 2nd half of the season is all about the future and seeing who has it and who doesn't. The decision on Rance has been made, the kid is a keeper. He also probably needs a bit of a rest after that head injury.

Agree whole heartedly
