I was wondering if The Weagles would be silly enough to pick up Cousins again after playing in a lower grade for a year and it got me thinking about all the players who have left a club to play at another one and then returned to the original one.

I've put together my best recycled team, hope PRE's can improve on it.
Though I wouldn't mind it at Tigerland!!

I know Rioli didn't play for another team but he was gone long enough to have to change his number (17 to 27)

No but he went from Richmond to Carlton to Essendon then back to Carlton.

Only players to represent Richmond, play elsewhere, and play again for Richmond:

Billy Schmidt 71, 90 (St), 4
Wayne Walsh 6, 63 (Sy), 82
David Cloke 176, 114 (Co), 43
Terry Smith 50, 44 (St), 6
Darryl Vernon 4, 8 (Sy), 5
Neil Peart 13 (Co), 31, 9 (WB), 9
Trent Nichols 56, 4 (WC), 33 (Ka), 19

Three players from the early days of VFL football who were regarded as champions or near enough were Billy Schmidt (Ri-St-Ri, centre), Wels Eicke (St-Ka-St, defender) and Percy Martini (Ge-Ri-Ge, forward). Sel Murray (Ka-Ri-Ka) and Linday White (Ge-Sy-Ge) were top forwards in the 40's and averaged almost 4 goals per match.

Others who might in contention are
Phil Baker (Ka-Ge-Ka, forward)
Warwick Capper (Sy-Br-Sy, forward)
Gary Cowton (Ka-WB-Sy-Ka, defender)
Neville Fields (Es-Sy-Es, centre)
Warwick Irwin (Fi-Co-Fi, rover/forward)
Peter Keenan (Me-Ka-Es-Me, ruck)
Robert McGhie (WB-Ri-WB-Sy, CHB)
Ken Newland (Ge-WB-Ge, ruck rover)
Billy Picken (Co-Sy-Co, CHB)
