Team to meet Freemantle

I am really looking forward this battle.

My focus will be on Angus Graham - I really am licking my lips to see how much Graham has improved.

I am pretty confident we can keep this close or even win this match.

Graham will have to do really well for that to happen though.

Yeah, very light session though, as it has been for the whole season. While he was out there he moved freely which is a great sign, hopefully we can eventually get a full pre season and full load of training on him to unleash his potential.

What's with these mutters about Cotch?

Nothing new, it is clear his body isn't 100% but the fitness staff have been managing it extremely well. Don't be put off my him leaving the track early, we would rather that oppose to over training and ruining his body!!

He appears to have some chronic niggles down one side. As mentioned, it is being managed, but he is not 100%

Why isn't Gourdis playing? I would have thought if he was playing well enough to warrant promotion then he would be playing well enough to warrant a game.

I'd really like to see him get a run, but I must say that the fact he hasn't managed to get into the side yet doesn't look all that good for his future with the club.

Really starting to wonder if he has been promoted to give him a few send-off league games like the Big Cat was.

Gourdis will be with us next year imo. Has progressed well this year. Has he officvially been elevated? There has been some conjecture about this.

He made the Emerg.List last week Goody.Fair indication he,s been elevated to the senior List. ;D

Yeah I saw that and thought likewise but I haven't seen any official announcement to indicate such. Can you maybe be a rookie and still announced as an emergency?

I wouldn't have thought you could do that. If someone has to come into the side they have to come from the emergencies so you would need to be eligible to play.

Who are we going to drop for him when we're winning?

Don't be ridiculous, Sylvester wasn't elevated for any send off games, it was his last opportunity as a rookie so he was elevated to see how he went at AFL level. Plus why would you pay $20k to elevate the player just to give him a farewell match?

There hasn't been any article dedicated to it, however he's listed with the senior players on the RFC website and has been referred to as "elevated rookie David Gourdis" in an article on another topic.

Danny Daly said he has been promoted at the Brisbane pre-game function.

Last opportunity, send off match, it is a matter of semantics. Not much difference IMO.

I seem to recall Dimma saying the focus this year was on development.

When McGuane got injured, I'd have thought it was a perfect opportunity to bring in the Goo. Give him a taste, see how he goes.

Silvester played 5 games in the seniors for Richmond, hardly a send off match or token elevation, it was definitely enough to judge a mature bodied defender at the top level.

Except Moore had returned from injury, picking Gourdis would have bumped one of our regular defenders for a kid who'd never played before. It's not like Moore is an old man and not part of our future, he's still only in his mid-20s.

You've been taking too much no doze. Time for a few sleeping pills me thinks.

Hardwick has been on the record as saying this year was not about the scoreboard, it's about getting games into young players.
He's mentioned Gourdis as one who they'll be looking to get games into and see if they have what it takes.

Not much point signing him up again for next season without having a look at him at the higher levels.
I'd hope his chance comes soon.

Hardwick has not only been talking about getting games into youngsters, he's actually doing it.

As mentioned elsewhere, it would be incredibly unfair for one of the boys to be dropped so that we can get a look at other youngsters when we are winning. When/if if we lose a couple or a couple of boys get injured, that's the time to give Gourdis a few games
