Team vs. Brisbane [Merged]

The entire Ben Cousins to Richmond saga now appears as a complete waste of time, energy and excitement.

Not at all. Worked wonders for membership numbers. The down side of that is how are we going to match this years membership numbers next year....

"We want players to be held accountable for poor performances"

"Why drop Mitch? He's only had a couple of bad games!"

Well from where i see it the week before against North he was anything but bad he had 21 disposals, 6 marks, 1 goal, 4 Inside 50's and a Dream Team Score of 89, not bad in my books...

Against Sydney they play him deep fwd almost FF and he gets beaten so out u go terry says, but hold on my mate browny he's done enough sitting out 2 games and he's above playing for coburg, ahh mates rates...

As far as im concerned brown hasnt registered a beep but hey thats enough for terry to put him back in...

It's truly bewildering.

So people were content to have them in the team if it meant we would play finals even though it was unlikely they would be around in 2010? What was the benefit of that post 2009?

This site is so full of hypocrites!

I hate to say it but claw is the most consistent poster on this site.
have to put my hand up and say ive regularly picked brown to play most weeks. yep ive been highly critical of his defensive game and the foward lines lack of pressure which brown is a part of. the main reason i pick brown over others has been his ball use
i regularly try to pick teams that has as few as possible poor kicks in it.
ive even gone to the point of asking that brown play permanently on a wing but his lack of defensive qualities hurts you just as much there.
browny is 30 hes slowed a fair bit his kicking has fallen away and it seems his desire to do the hard yards to earn a kick has evaporated. this has been evident for a few yrs now.

imo our overall return on picks 6 and 20 for brown has been poor. he was always the wrong type to splurge such picks on.

We've given the Doggies Picks 6, 19 and 20 and got Brown and McMuddle. :-X :duh :bash

Any idea who the Doggies have got from those three picks ?

Draft pick 6 (along with Mark Alvey) traded to the Hawks for Loghlan Veale.

Lochlan was thrust into the spotlight during the 2003 trade week, where he was a part of a lopsided three-way deal involving Hawthorn, Essendon and the Western Bulldogs. In the deal Hawthorn gained Danny Jacobs, Essendon gained Mark Alvey and the number six selection in the draft and the Bulldogs officially only received Veale, but also gained an undertaking by Hawthorn that they would not trade Jade Rawlings to any other club, allowing the Bulldogs to select him with the first selection in the pre-season draft. This specifically prevented Rawlings from switching to his preferred club, the Kangaroos where his brother Brady played.[1] Whilst not strictly against the AFL rules, many saw this cross-draft trading as not being in the spirit of the trading system.[2] This deal became known as the The Veale Deal.

Wiki

Draft pick 20 to Geelong for Peter Street.

I don't think even we would've stuffed those picks up like the Doggies did.

thats irrelevant would we have picked the same players. anyone of 67 kids who were taken after pick 6 was available to us. and 53 from pick 20 onwards.
where did we finish in 02 and 03 oh thats right 14th and 13th. in 03 it should have been patently clear to all that a rebuild was needed. but no we trade picks 6 and 20 and then proceed to get a spoon the following yr. bottoming out people we just dont do it properly. did we learn anything from these yrs in a nut shell one has to say no.
ahh the rfc doomed to make the same mistakes over and over and every mistake defended by blind dumb deluded ferals who mirror the club.

Yeah Pick 6 & 20 went to the doggies, the bombers then used pick 6 on kepler bradley...

Now we did trade a player out for pick 21, that was Ben "money bags" Holland...we then used pick 21 which we received from the dees on Alex Gilmour who went on to play 'zero" games for the RFC...

Wet day today.

Only need two real talls at most.

A good day for strongly built medium & small forwards.

Will Simmo "fail" his fitness test and a late change result?

As an aside Phantom, you're obviously eating plenty of carrots if you can distinguish mud at night time when the stars are out.

I am assuming the Coburg intra club match last night was a closed session because I cannot find a report on it anywhere. Would certainly indicate a late change if any of the emergencies didn't play.

I just went past Punt Rd Oval about 30 minutes ago and Schulz, Gourdis, McMahon and Patto were doing drills in training gear. Given Schulz is the emergency, he could still play!!
