I went today, there were some good signs from some of the players. The effort was really there.

I thought Ross was BOG from the Tigers. Stacky was very clean and damaging up forward. MJ looked great in patches. Soldo was the dominant ruck.

Parker has a huge work rate. It's just a shame he can't hit targets regularly. I would have Miller ahead of Biggy. Biggy seems to get lost a fair bit. Brown used it very well but seems to rely on uncontested possessions at the moment.

Banks tried hard but couldn't seem to get in the right spot much.

We desperately need another devolvping key forward.

I'm not sure it's that desperate, Dev. If Miller and Biggie keep improving (and we maybe add Young to the list), they could form our future key backs, freeing Noah and Godcus to be our forwards. Along with Ryan, and Bauer looking promising, the list is ok for developing talls (and flankers). I reckon we can focus on mids, mids, mids now.

Jack needs to work on the mo/beard.

Was Frank a forward?

Ryan definitely does his best work in the ruck and around the ground.
Does have forward craft but not particularly strong or powerful on the lead.
Definitely competing with Soldo who looked good in the ruck and up forward
I like Ryan his added marking to his game now. His great shot at goal I might add.I think we got slot to work it with him up forward to.

Calling it as I see it. To be fair Soldo looked pretty much the same when he started & now he's a premiership player.
What people forgetting Soldo started in the vfl reserves not seniors alot better suited there to start , as in seniors your against better opposition.

10 clearances for Sonsieis a big positive , thought Brown showed the signs we want to see going forward, MJ continues to grow and show he may not be a one trick pony , really like his evolvement in games now , Biggy also appears to be improving, just seems like he loses concentration at the or contest , Ryan had some very nice plucks and Mate is big

Harsh going early on Colina. He has never had a pre season and he hasn’t played since he was about 16.

Let’s make judgement in about 12 months time
After seeing him yesterday maybe he'd be better learning the craft at a lower level grade. 5 disposals 1 mark 0 goals total in 2 games. I understand playing for the experience but I'm not sure how these low levels of involvement will improve his game or give him confidence.

Just saw the vision from in the rooms, wow, Mate is built like a proverbial brick shithouse. Needs to work on footy skills but won't need to build his body, he's a solid lad, scary given how tall he is.

DS
He is very raw, but there is something there. Not sure about the rules for promoting catergory 2 rookies, but he will have been been on that list for two years. Hopefully he will be able to come on to the main list before the trade period ?

Yes. Soldo played vfl development league which doesn’t exist anymore.
Is there the opportunity for him to play anywhere else, is he allowed to?

The AFL clubs now have to treat their VFL teams as their development teams.
