teds towel

I will take the towell to the first game. I may need it for my tears if Carlscum beat us. Haha

Hopefully everyone, It would look amazing if 30,000 richmond supporters as well as non-member supporters waving their towels and scarfs.
I just hope everyone takes it and is not afraid to wave a towel.

West Coast did it at subi a couple of years ago when they had beaten essendon and it looked amazing.

Make sure you take it to the first game!

Who gives a rat's arse about the doggies implementing this as well. At $10 a pop, most of their members (which ain't that many to start with) wouldn't be able to afford it anyway. :hihi

Are they free or $10?

The article from the HUN said:

"In the first two rounds, when the Bulldogs play home matches against Geelong and Adelaide, mini towels will be distributed free of charge.

The main plank of the merchandising project will see 30,000 towels offered to supporters for $10 each."

Perhaps the Herald Sun is so used to being deliberately ambiguous to incite the emotionally vulnerable that they have lost the ability to report clearly?

Waste of time, silly idea load of bull.
How many people do you think are going to bring them?

I won't be bringing mine, I don't dry my dishes at the footy........ ;D

They copied us :o

Could just be coincidence. A couple of years ago someone posted on here that our membership campaign was copied from a different code. It was very similar but RFC read the post and let me know that such initiatives are planned several months before they are released/launched for the public so can't really be copied.

It will be interesting, as with the Tiges, to see how the Dog supporters embrace the concept. I haven't read anything about it but presume the $10 cost is a fund-raising kind of thing?
It likely is coincidence rosy.
If we should be looking at anyone it's our media PR person(Mithen?, Jacobs?) for not getting the word out earlier.

Now all of a sudden the Tiger skin towel is looking like a great idea. :hihi

FWIW I heard the original idea came from the States. The Pittsburg Steelers used something similar in the 70s, so it's not our idea at all.

the steelers still have it they call it THE TERRIBLE TOWEL,(and they just happen to be yellow and black) and i must admit when watching there games it does look
good seeing all of the towels being twirled together

It's funny because most of the non-Richmond people I've spoken to have attacked the Tiger skin as lame and an amateurish marketing gimmick (I must admit I was sceptical). I wonder what those same people will say about the Bulldogs version.

Amateurish, lame....maybe - but I'd still love to see 30,000 of the towels waving wildly at the end of the game, hopefully winners, with Oh we're from Tigerland being belted out by those same 30,000.
