G'day all,
coming to the game with 7 friends this Saturday night. just hoping some of you on PRE could help me with some logistical questions about this God forsaken ground. im an mcg man myself :D

anyhoo, here are my questions:
  • Where are the general admission seats available (i'd like to get in for normal price without prepaid ticket premium on top)
where is the best place to sit amongst the richmond faithful?
when do the gates open?
can you go buy a ticket at the ground early and then come back later closer to game time to get in
best place to park for a quick getaway away from after game traffic to head back up north to the country?

thanks heaps everyone,

Rensman

Thought I would reply as no other takers.
General Admission area is all of level 3, not sure of where the GA area on level 1 is.
Good area for RFC supporters is behind the Coventry goals, Richmond use the change rooms at this end. and cheer squad on level one at this end also.
Don't know what time ticket boxes open, but you can purchase and then come back later. Wont be any trouble in getting the amount of seats you will be needing all in the one place.
Parking? You can go underground, but at a cost. Or try the off street car parks - Latrobe St/DFO Spencer St etc.

the ticket boxes in the wall of the dome i am sure open around 10 in the morning but i could be wrong there is one at every gate nearly if walking from train station you see it bnext to gate straight in front of you so no prob's getting them from those boxes parking under dome $23 if you head for the end that tigers change rooms are after game stay there and wait for traffic to go but get some autographs form your players when they leave :clap always ask nicely and say thank you they appreciate it more if you do

parking under dome $23

Welcome to Telstra Dome, where it costs more to park your car than it does to see the game.

There's parking at a warehouse in Batman St (between Spencer and Adderley) for $10, a couple of minutes' walk from the ground. Looks dodgy but I've never had any problems there. Getting out not too bad once you're over/onto Spencer, certainly better than getting out of the Dome carpark.

1. That information is Classified. How is Ticketmaster going to make any money if you don't pay extra for the prepaid ticket doofus ? sheesh !
2. At Punt Rd. we don't want just anybody coming into this venue ! Besides if we had true supporters of Football at his venue the entire ambience would be ruined by the great unwashed.
3. No. When you pay for a ticket you have to enter the arena. You are then chained to your seat and forcefed over priced hot dogs and weak beer until the final siren goes. ( A cathetar can be provided at a small cost of $9.99)
4. Under the Dome. You can check out but never leave.

$10 :o

Why not park on a street for free (near the the rail bridge is just one spot) and have a nice easy 10 minute walk to the ground.

As for the opening post.. GA is all of level 3, although if you go to the ticket box and ask for level 1 GA they might have some available although I dont think they sell these till just before the game starts.

As others say you can by your tickets whenever and come back any time to get in.. no time limits. Not sure when the gates open, sorry.

Good luck getting street parking on a Friday night or day when the game is decent. I usually park in the commercial carpark in Little Collins.

usually get a free park over near festival hall. no problems.

or drive to a station like kensington and get the train to spencer st. (or a station on yr side of town)

free park, cheap and easy getaway.

If I drive there...very rare...trains the way forward...but anyway, I just park at crown for $5 or $10 whatever it is and walk the 10 minutes. Always easy to get away and good bars for after if a win puts me in the drinking spirit.

Casino parking is about $5 I think. If Mrs Yinnar gambles enough there the credit goes on her casino card and parking is free. About a ten minute walk up Spencer St.

thanks to all who have responded. i think i'll take your advice and park on the other side of the railway, head up to level 3 to keep the costs down and enjoy another tiger win.

enjoyed T17's above post :hihi what a rort ticket'master' is - i bought something like 8 tickets for the 100G @ the G clash and they slug you something like $12 a ticket than another $6 booking fee. Isn't that what the $12 is for??!! sheisters
yes they can't like us ferals entering their nanny state sanctified stadium, very much hotel california stuff, you can check in but never check out...

This is the last time I'll be going to a night match at the Dump mainly due to poor parking facilities.

gee you ferals still hate the dome. whats wrong with you people? just get over it, we've been playing games there for 8 years now. the dome is a brilliant stadium, much better for watching footy than the G. yes parking is crap, but it's crap anywhere in town. thats one reason why i sold my car and moved to the city

The place is a hole. The food is *smile*, the parking is *smile*, it costs more than the G and footy is suppossed to be played outside not under a roof.

seriously, where do you get your biased opinion from? in what way is the place a hole? in terms of spectator comfort it is the best stadium in australia (and i've been to nearly all of them).

the food is sh!t? it's not great but you have to know where to look... there is this little area at livewhere where you can get good sized plate of food for $10-$12. cheaper than a pub meal...

the parking is a joke, but as i said in my previous post, anywhere in the city is crap. at least you can catch a train there unlike waverley.

it costs more than the G? yes parking is, but food and beer is the same. the G also has a levy on every ticket to pay for the new stand, the dome doesn't.

footy is supposed to be played outside? i maybe in the minority but i would rather stay dry at the footy and not have the afternoon sun in my face.

I don't understand the parking complaints - I've never had a problem be it fri night, sat or sat night
park free on batman ave or the streets north of and parallel to batman - 10 min walk, get off your fat lazy behinds
I usually arrive no more than 20 mins before the start
