The most disappointing thing for me was hearing the winner (Osaka) apologising for winning. Bu99er that !!! She should be saying "I stuck it right up em I did, I stuck it right up em" to quote a good old Teddy Whitten saying.

What a disgrace it is that the winner of a major tournament cannot feel the fly she deserves because of the behaviour of her opponent.

Disgraceful performance.
Not the first time.
Playing the race card, women's cause, having a child ?, her bullying behaviour.

What do you expect when ( sounded like someone was clapping in the background ) , that no journo went hard at her to how most American people consider themselves ( just have a look at the President to understand ) to her crocodile tears.

Never liked her.

May she always be cursed be cursed and remain at the number of slams she is !

She's getting a lot of support in the US. Strange none of them are calling out her behaviour, agreeing with her that she was victimised. None of them ever mention her terrible record/history of poor sportsmanship.

She's Japanese. She would have apologised whether there was a kerfuffle or not. Doesn't mean she meant it.

Herald Sun cartoonist Mark Knight is apparently copping a social media backlash for his “racist” cartoon of Serena Williams.

He had a handy response to call on - his cartoon from days earlier taking the *smile* out of Kyrgios' behaviour.

I heard him on the radio. He did apparently refer to that but when the finger-pointing, name- calling mob is angry then watch out!

I don't really see what all the fuss is about in this case. Knight's job as a cartoonist/caricaturist is to exaggerate features of people.
Seems like there's more fuss about how he depicted Osaka (blonde) than there is about Serena.

That bit is interesting. Curious as to the thought behind it.

Edit: Solved!

Not many pictures of Osaka published, but plenty of the loser.

Only thing I can guess is that, a hand containing Afro-American+female victim cards must trump Japanese-Afro/Caribbean+female cards in the sport of oppression Olympics. I don't really play though, so would have to ask someone who participates in that game, who is more familiar with the intricacies for the rules of what hand beats what. :don't know

They're both winners; the white man is the bad guy. He's even sitting in a high chair, looking down...

Their leader demonstrates all of these behaviours so not surprising petulance is supported. She may have a point that the umpire was too strict in interpretation relative to other umpires in the final of all places (bit like a restricted zone 50 while technically correct, but against the spirit, goes against us in a GF). But throwing the toys out of the cot doesn’t really work for anyone who thinks they are some kind of role model.

What's the big deal? Just shows Serene with a dummy spit.

Anyone understand J K Rowling's take on this?

If anything those who oppose Trump demonstrate the behaviours you talk about.

Bit of a circle jerk going on here. The cartoon depicts Williams using stereotypical 'sambo' features which are racist stereotypes, plus it depicts Osaka as a blonde white girl. Pretty easy to see why the outrage has occurred.

The sambo element deserves criticism. Nothing else does. Knight should have known better.

Reminds me of Hey Hey it’s Saturday allowing a black face troupe on Red Faces.
