Some points for those without sound

  • Asked our attitude to pre-season comp.  Is it for fine tuning or a comp important to win it it's own right.
Said a bit of both.  We are going with a No Risk policy.  We're training today and again on Friday.  If players are underdone or not at the stage they're ready for seniors they won't be risked.  They'd rather play guys who've done the work the whole way through.  They deserve to see the club will back and support their efforts over the summer months.
  • Asked about the importance of winning said as soon as you play anything, even table tennis, you want to win.  It's a legitimate comp and all 24 will be doing their very best.
  • Rodan.  Going along well.  Expects it will take him half a dozen games to get into the swing and find the ball etc.  You can do all the training you what but it takes time to learn to get the ball and into position.  Dave's done everything right at the moment, had a pretty fair praccy game and will be part of the opening squad.
Sees him as an onballer.  He's tried other positions, bp and fp, but it exciting and quick and has good endurance.  Was perfe3ct for the running style we wanted to play last year but unfortunately we had to wait a year.
  • Asked if he sees Krak in a similar role.  SaidKrak needs to start to progress towards an onball role[.  He's not really quick for a permanant forward pocket role.  Needs to build up endurance.  He's been working on that since Danny's time so has been a  3-4 year period working on it.
Each year he's getting a little stronger.  Expects him to play more of a cameo role as an onballer rather than being "a" midfielder.
  • Asked about new faces we can expect to see.  Said team isn't finalised yet.  Patrick Bowden a certainty.  Has shown great form, one of our better performed players.  Sees him on a wing-half forward role.  He's mobile enough to play ruck rover but is a good marka nd able to hit the scoreboard, so somewhere inbetween.  Sees him similar to Andrew Embley as a taller stronger type but with a similar engine to his  opponents
  • Won't play a lot of young guys first up. Those witha  few games experience,Hartigan, Raines, Pattison, is where we're going rather than first gamers first time around.
  • Browny-Going well.  Expects him to play a praccy game in a week or so.  Isn't far away.  He's on track for what the club hoped for.
  • Agrees with Sheeds prize money for the premiership (h&a) shoudl be increased.  At the moment it's similar to the Pre-season prize money where a lot of clubs don't take it seriously.
