Every journalist this side of Timbuktoo had their 'template' of what was going to be written in today's newpapers when they arrived at the MCG last night.  A courageous and a very determined, team orientated Tiger line-up ensured that this 'template', more like a grilling that was designed to a bang nail in Wallace's coaching career, avoided it from being written in today's newspapers.

One thing I noticed because I was very close to the action, that Terry 'dragged' every Richmond player that made an error.  One that came to mind was in the 3rd Q when Burns ran of Edwards from defence and linked in the middle that sent a ball deep into their goal square where Davis marked and goaled.  Edwards was dragged and was straight on the phone and back on the ground.

Wallace bamboozled Malthouse with about 657  :P rotations in the middle.

Thanks Terry, it's not only required for our players to be bold & courageous, but a coach needs to have a few 'tricks' up their sleeve.

Onya Terry. :clap

Compared to last week where it appeared Wallace refused to make any substantial positional changes, it was a welcome relief to see some constructive changes tonight.

his best move IMO was manning up around the ground. we've played a loose man in defence for as long as i can remember this year, only to have the opposing side's loose man kill us, our long entries or indirect entries in the fwd line being no sooner whisked away by the weight of nos opposing sides had back. last night, we actually had nos. at the fall of the ball in the fwd line and were able to win 50/50 contest. fwd line tackling was probably the best all year. it's amazing what happens when you do the basics.

Polak up forward.

Deledio up forward.

King on the ball.

Terry coached and he coached very well.
Finally he changed it up and the players responded.
Credit where it's due. Well done.

I hope he continues in this vain.

Just chatting with Ted Hopkins* at work on Friday and he commented that he wouldn't be surprised to see Richmond beat Collingwood as Terry has a habit of unexpectedly winning a game a year. I agreed but still thought it likely that Collingwood would win. I'm chuffed that we won though, really chuffed!!! It'll make going to work on Monday a pleasure.

I thought I read in Terry's interview in one of the newspapers that the senior players had some say in the tactics during the week. Then again I may have dreamt it in an alcoholic haze.

He was good last night, although I find it hard to stomach how he gets the credit if the players win a game yet is absolved from blame when we lose-allegedly because Spud stuffed up the list.

As the Mole mentioned the players were allowed more input into the coaching process this week, it does wonders giving players some ownership of the problem rather than just continue to play them in unsuitable positions.

Loved Brown's comment after the game that TW told them to enjoy themselves and play like Under 12s...

Tiger fans got to enjoy it as well

Well done TW and the players
