Having seen bits of all 5 games played so far this opening round, it doesn't seem like much has changed since last season.
Uncontested football is just plain crap!
We are just as guilty as other teams, and yes a win is a win, but, is it that hard to look at the best team in the league and model your game on them?
In the first half between the eagles and swans, the eagles ran hard, tackled hard and kicked long, it was the best thing to watch.
We don't have the skills they have but running hard and tackling hard should be basic skills all players should have.
Don't undersell our kids Terry, let them play instinctually, let them run and bounce the ball, let them kick it long and high into our forward line.
Give Richo, Sarge and Polak a chance to take a grab or crummers clean up.
I don't want to see what Hawthorn did tonight and just try to minimise damage.
I don't want to see continual chip kicking around our back 50.
I don't want to see Greg Tivendale run and carry the ball 20-30 metres and worm burn a 23 metre pass to a leading Richo who has reached our Half Back line.
Teach them attacking. hard tackling, hard running football.
This defensive, unaccountable, short kicking game is unbearable.
If our opposition is better than us then so be it.
I don't want to see our young potentials afraid to run and bounce the ball, take risks, kick long and use their instincts.
So please Terry let's not kid ourselves, you have to take risks in footy. If you don't and hang on to the footy too long you will cough it up.

Acceptable through trying to make the play, run with the ball, kick the ball into the goal square........
Unacceptable through chipping the ball continuosly around till your fwd 50 looks like the monash at 8:00 am..........
